Unarmed, in a well lit area, issuing no threats to anyone, climbing through the window. The officer issued no warning, and did not preclude the use of lesser force such as a taser, pepper spray, or a baton. He simply murdered her from ambush.
If you or I shot her, we would be arrested. If a local police officer in the midwest shot someone doing the exact same thing at city hall, they would go to prison. There are no special laws authorizing deadly force for going into the capitol.
We are now in an authoritarian police state.

I can’t help feeling that if I had been in DC this might well have been me or any number of my friends. I was (am) so angry about the election steal that I probably would have been among those entering the buildings. I know many here think this is seditious, but there is only so far some people can be pushed before they try to take control in some small way.

She was no threat, none of the uniformed police looked particularly concerned by her, and he didn’t shoot by accident but was aiming. I’m usually on the side of the police...except when they’re wrong, and this was wrong.
