Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is again raising his inflow of legal immigrants — which has already spiked Canadians’ housing prices, crashed birthrates, slashed productivity, and trashed public support for migration.
Trudeau’s inflow will rise from 465,000 in 2023, up to 485,000 in 2024 and then 500,000 per year after, immigration minister Marc Miller said November 1.

I don’t know about now, but since before I was born, flyover country in Canada has been under-populated. I’m not using that as a reason they need immigrants, but I’m sure Trudeau is. Most of the population is concentrated in the big cities, and you know how THEY usually vote.
I’ve seen a couple of videos posted by migrants to Canada who claim they were lied to. The tech jobs they took do not pay enough to live anywhere near where they work. They feel like high tech sweat shop workers. House and apartment prices are ridiculous and because Canada is flooded with overqualified migrants from a dozen countries there’s no ladder to climb.
On another note, an article claimed that Canada was a worker’s paradise because there was much less inequality there. (They quoted some equality index.) In the same article it complained of a brain drain as Canadians are immigrating to the United States for better employment. The US was painted as a horribly unequal place. One wonders if the author read the piece through and put together the facts...Canada, a worker’s paradise where everyone is paid equally...but people are leaving to go someplace the author thinks is worse.
