King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, says Buckingham Palace.
It is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The type of cancer has not been revealed, but according to a palace statement the King began "regular treatments" on Monday.
Buckingham Palace says the King "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".

No one ever reported Charles previously had any form of cancer. Seems they would have said, if so. So not recurring.
You have correctly pointed out why that statement has been made.
There is also some information being developed about prostate cancer being associated with HPV infection in men. Maybe all the guys who develop serious Pca have history of HPV infection?

Edward was undertaking a much higher level of public appearances for quite a while, especially after Charles and Kate announced sick. After a couple in a close timeframe, he announced a short time out. Most assume he’s tired and catching up on things that had to be put to the side.
Stomach cancer often has few symptoms until advanced (as was my case.). In my situation low red cell anemia displayed was like circulatory weakness or drowsiness. Being told this was often a sign of internal bleeding I had an upper and lower GI and the upper GI found a 2’ x 1.25” fully adhered tumor that had probably been there ten years and was now friable and bleeding.
Unlike Asia where upper GI and lower GI are done together, here it is often undiagnosed.
curiously, how would you know that’s not true since none of us are getting information? Or are they just pinging you with the deets?
Camilla will be protected. Charles will have already seen to that. The former Queen Mother was the former Queen. She was used to a high level of public appearances and interactions. Camilla is mother and grandmother of a close family. Her focus is Charles, outside of her descendants, and it’s unlikely she would have any interest in being prominent if it wasn’t to support him. All the recent gossip has been about Elizabeth’s support for Camilla to marry Charles.

Doesn’t look like it’s significantly operable. Means chemo and/or radiation. When I had stage II colon cancer in 2015 it was immediately surgically removed. No recurrence since.

Queen Elizabeth reigned over 70 years. Methinks Charles may not last 7 years.

She also has a mystery illness and won’t make public appearances until April.

So very sorry you’re going thru this. Hope your treatment is spectacularly effective. Husband passed his 10 year date with flying colors and I’m very impressed with the medical achievements in this area. Best wishes from both of us.
The over/under on treatment used to be 10 years life expectancy.
