There was one three houses down from me a week ago. I was watching the morning and heard them mention my neighborhood. Then they mentioned my block and I was shocked. I walked out and saw the police cars and crime scene tape.
These are a few of my favorite 80s one-hit wonders, as in having only one US Top-40 hit. They did have other hits in the Hot 100 or on the charts in other countries.
Oklahoma County is one of the few Republican-leaning urban counties left. However, Democrats have been making gains over the last several years. Several long-time Republican-held state house seats in the OKC area flipped to Democrat a few years ago. The 5th Congressional District elected Democrat Kendra Horn in 2018 based on Democrat strength in the Oklahoma County portion. But, she was then defeated by Republican Stephanie Bice in 2020. Also, Trump only won the county by 1% in 2020 after winning it by 10% in 2016. Of course, there could have easily been some shenanigans with the voting here as there was in other urban counties in 2020. Despite the Democrat gains, the Republican OKC mayor David Holt easily won reelection earlier this year, so Republicans may still be doing fairly well there for now.

I remember seeing that video almost two years ago. That store is in Houston, just about 2 miles from my house. If you look at the Houston Robbery YouTube channel, cell phone stores are one of the types of places that are most commonly robbed.
Some friends of mine are very glad they moved from Gwinnett County (Lilburn) to Cherokee County (Canton) a few years ago. One of them calls Gwinnett County “DeKalb County East”.
I certainly didn’t vote for Sylvester Turner, Lina Hidalgo, or Lizzie Fletcher (my representative). While it will be hard to elect people who are much better for mayor and county judge, I’m hopeful Wesley Hunt will be able to unseat Fletcher.
This is in my neck of the woods. It's certainly not as bad as what's going on in the Twin Cities, Atlanta, Portland, and other places but I would say it's the worst I've seen out of any the Houston protests that I can remember.
Here's another story covering the police response and related injuries.
