  • Prayers needed for my mom please

    11/02/2010 9:25:26 AM PDT · by KeatsforFirstDog · 72 replies
Last night my mother was admitted to the hospital. After many tests, they have discovered that she had a heart attack. At this point they believe it was minor, but they are doing more tests today and she is having to have a blood transfusion due to being anemic (I think that's what they said). My family and I would very much appreciate any prayers. (I lost my dad about 5 years ago and I'm not quite 40 yet, so this is hitting me a little hard today...not quite the day I was expecting :( )

When Becky Smith was denied vital cancer treatment by the Health Service 'postcode lottery', she feared she might not live to see her wedding day. The 30-year-old NHS surgeon, whose breast cancer was missed four times, considered cancelling the ceremony to pay for the treatment she needed. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1299046/Happiness-doctor-cancer-battle-lives-wedding-day.html#ixzz0vEh5voMj

Tomorrow is the last day to register in many states. MOST, if not 99.8%+ of us have already registered or know that we are registered to vote next month. But if for some reason you're not, or not 100% certain (maybe you made a move across states or 1/2 the country recently, in the midst of a family member's terminal illness/death, like my spouse and I - maybe you just moved counties or provinces...maybe you have a teenager who has turned 18 since the last election that you need to nudge, or maybe you have an assisted living grandparent/parent/relative, that...

Held my tongue long enough - but I am ANGRY. I have seen a bazillon Dems paraded in news conferences and interviews over the past 24-30 hours - and I watch Fox. I've seen Gregg haphazardly by himself this morning, basically somewhat supporting the Dem premise that the Senate Dems and Repubs and the House Dems...Kinda balking on what, if anything, the Repubs in the House thought... He waltzed back out a few hours with McConnell a few hours later and was a little more gaurded with his poo-pooing of the House, but he *should* have said he misunderstood the...

"There has been no change in the race for President since last week, with Democrat Barack Obama leading Republican John McCain by five points among registered voters. Interest in the presidential debate – still scheduled for Friday -- is high, with more than six in ten voters say they are very likely to watch the presidential debate tomorrow night."

Barack Obama has a statistically insignificant 48 percent to 46 percent lead over John McCain among registered voters with two percent choosing neither and 3 percent undecided in an NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey conducted Sept. 19-22. The margin of error is 3 points and the numbers includes leaners. Obama had led by 3 points in August and by 6 points in July. This poll differs from this week's Washington Post/ABC News and Fox News which both had Obama regaining statistically significant leads. more at link

Clay Aiken has come out. The “American Idol” star and new dad finally revealed his sexuality in the new issue of People, which features a portrait of Aiken and his son, Parker Foster Aiken, on the cover with the words, “Yes, I’m Gay.” Although the new issue has yet to be released, when contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for People confirmed the cover (which was leaked Tuesday on PerezHilton.com) is for their new issue. His son, born August 8 to friend Jaymes Foster, seems to be the reason for his admission. “I cannot raise a child to lie or...

Linda Vester just referenced a quilt made by a soldier in Iraq (started in April 2004) and it's being auctioned on Ebay, closing in 21 hours. ALL proceeds go to scholarship fund for children and grandchildren of fallen soldiers. I found it on Ebay and thought that I'd pass along the link in case anyone wishes to bid on it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2278625815&fromMakeTrack=true

Just an idea/thought...Why don't we all take cameras (including video ones) with you to vote. Especially if you vote in heavily/lean Dem areas. Michael Moore is doing it in FL, so why don't we? You may not even need to use it, but if you see something fishy, capture it on film! When Moore comes out with his piece of crap, there will be film footage from the other side. It will also serve as evidence (God help us that we never need it) if this gets hung up in the courts by the Dems. Got extra time today and...

John Thune by a tiny margin in the unofficial tally Wednesday, and a recount was expected. With all 844 precincts reporting, Democratic Sen. Thanks to the help of TOH, we are now in the process of completing our ***Official Website*** to expose the lies and blatant disregard of the interests of SoDak by Daschle and Johnson. A website and server have been obatined and we will release the URL to that website very soon. We will expose the "say one thing, do another" attitude of Daschle and Johnson. With the recent events surrounding Jeffords's actions, the need for an accurate, informative site advising of these turncoats (Daschle and Johnson who call themselves "moderates," yet receive an "8" and "12," respectively from the ACU) ...

Carl Cameron just showed a clip of Daschle saying that the "Rule of Law" was broken today because the Dems didn't get anything that they wanted on the budget deal. Daschle then said it reminded him on Russia or a dictatorship country where the people had no rights. I guess this is Daschle's new ploy...make it look like we're losing our freedom when we're getting our own money back

Since the RNC continues to shirk its responsibilities in defeating the lies of South Dakota's two liberal Senators (Daschle and Johnson), this post is to gage interest in assembling a continual barrage of ads and distribution of information to the residents of SD beginning this summer and running until the November 2004 election. The goal would be to do the following: 1. Defeat Senator Johnson (D-SD) in 2002. 2. Maintain a conservative US house representative in SD. 3. Defeat Senator Daschle (D-SD) in 2004. As many of you know, President Bush is heavily recruiting US Rep. Thune (R-SD) to run ...

Minnesota Poll: Welfare exception favored Jean Hopfensperger Star Tribune Friday, April 20, 2001 Most Minnesotans believe some welfare recipients should get a break from the five-year lifetime limit on benefits, the Star Tribune Minnesota Poll has found. A large majority of people surveyed, 76 percent, said that recipients -- most of whom are parents -- with serious health problems or who care for someone with serious health problems should be allowed to collect benefits after their time clock rings. And 58 percent said recipients who have worked, gone to school or followed the welfare rules -- but still don't earn ...
