I was thinking of it as a preventative for catching it. The blood clots part makes sense. While I was in the clinic they did a CT scan to check for a blood in the lungs. That’s where they saw the “ground glass” pneumonia in both lungs.
Side note: the x-ray showed clear lungs, but the CT scan showed the problem. This is the second time in 12 months that an X-ray showed nothing, but a CT scan revealed a problem that needs treatment. Why are we still using x-rays for all lung issues? Why make people pay for two tests and get exposed to radiation when the first test is so unreliable that a second has to be ordered?
