They may call it a "microaggression" but when an offense is weaponized to destroy someone's career, that's a MACRO problem. This man in Massachusetts, Vito Perrone, was offered a job as a school superintendent, but the offer was rescinded because he offended a couple of gals in charge of hiring when he used the term "ladies" to address the females. There used to be a time when the proper and gentlemanly thing to do would be to call women "ladies" but in 2023 it's a "microaggression" and keep you out of a job. In an attempt to negotiate a higher...

WEDNESDAY, July 11 (HealthDay News) -- Drinking one or two alcoholic beverages several times a week may improve the bone health of older women and reduce their risk for osteoporosis, a small study suggests. Bones are living tissue with old bone continually removed and replaced in a process called remodeling. In people with the bone-thinning disease osteoporosis, more bone is lost than replaced. Postmenopausal women are at particular risk because of reduced estrogen, a hormone essential for bone strength, the researchers explained. "This study clearly demonstrates that even small amounts of alcohol have potent actions and can rapidly impact bone...

A St. Petersburg bar landed in hot water recently after a transgender woman was told she could not receive discounted drinks on “ladies night.” The bar, Bishop Tavern & Lounge, was quick to apologize on its Facebook page after a protest group formed on the same social networking site. “Recently a concern was raised about how a transgender customer was treated here. We would like to sincerely apologize for this,” the Facebook note states. “Bishop strives on being one of St. Petersburg’s premier nightlife destinations for everyone, without prejudice. We really appreciate the fact that we live in such a...

Making the rounds on YouTube these days is a film of a group of manly looking women preparing for and conducting a "flash dance" in a Philadelphia food store. The crew of ladies, dressed in tight black clothes and sequined accessories, arrives at The Fresh Grocer supermarket, breaks into a preplanned chant ordering shoppers not to buy Sabra and Tribe hummus and telling them to oppose Israeli "apartheid" and support "Palestine." From their attire and attitude, it is fairly clear that the participants in the video would congratulate themselves on their commitment to the downtrodden, the wretched of the earth...

Vivian Y. Bright likes to watch her congressman at work, but she was glad when Rep. Edolphus Towns finally gaveled to a close a hearing on sexual disparity in federal restrooms -- because she had to find one. "Just now, we experienced it," she said. "We went to the ladies room. There's a line." The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which Towns (D-N.Y.) chairs, heard testimony Wednesday on legislation to develop a more equitable sexual balance in the number of toilets in federal buildings.

Young mothers are turning their backs on high-powered careers to raise their children, a study has found.Their mothers, or even grandmothers, lived through a time when women fought for full-time work and better pay.But today's generation is returning to the traditional values of home and family - and looking to men to be the breadwinners. The about-face was highlighted yesterday in research presented by leading sociologist Geoff Dench, who has analysed responses to questions asked in the annual British Social Attitudes survey. His analysis comes against a background of growing political pressure on mothers to go out to work.It revealed a...

As our society abandons the conservative values that make women into ladies, women with grace and dignity have become an endangered species—especially on today’s college campuses. The kind of woman who inspired Tom Jones’ song “She’s a Lady” has become an antiquated figure from America’s past. Most popular songs about women today are more like “Youse a Ho” by Ludacris. I am often surprised by the social behavior of certain young women who call themselves conservative. Conservatism is not just an ideology; it is a lifestyle. On college campuses telling the difference between liberal and conservative women is nearly...
