VATICAN CITY, September 18, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – To Archbishop Carlo Viganò’s allegations, Pope Francis will say not a word. But on the theme of the Great Accuser, he has preached four times. This morning, September 18, after preaching on the Gospel of the day – in which Jesus raises the son of the Widow of Nain (Luke 7:11-17) – Francis shifted from thoughts on Christ’s compassion to those concerning His silence before the “Great Accuser.” According to the Vatican’s own news website, Vatican News, Francis believes Christ’s silence was itself a form of compassion. “The Pope brought up that it...

The Francis Show in Palermo… The Blessing that Wasn’t: Francis omits “Papal” Benediction because it could offend Non-Catholics On Saturday, Sep. 15, the Francis Show made a stop in Sicily, with the “Pope” visiting the dioceses of Piazza Armerina and Palermo. As always, Francis had a lot to say, cranking out such incredible nuggets of wisdom as, “Those belonging to the mafia are not living as Christians”, and, “…those who give themselves find the meaning of life and win” (source). The Vatican web site has posted the entire program of the trip to Sicily here. One of the highlights of...

Red Semidouble THERE IS A PECULIAR BEAUTY in the meeting of these two Saints upon the sacred Cycle. Cyprian, in a famous dispute, was once opposed to the Apostolic See: Eternal Wisdom now offers to the homage of the world, in company with one of the most illustrious successors of St. Peter. Cornelius was, by birth, of the highest nobility; witness his tomb, lately discovered in the family crypt, surrounded by the most honorable names in the patrician ranks. The elevation of a descendant of the Scipios to the sovereign Pontificate linked the past grandeurs of Rome to her...

Today I ran searches for information about the scandal in the Catholic Church. I specifically wanted news related to Italian newspaper reports which hinted that Pope Benedict's dossier on the Gay mafia within the Church was going to be made public. I got little or nothing on the mainline search engines - Google returning only generalized references to the scandal from Legacy media. I used DuckDuckGo and found sites from alternative Traditional Catholic online sources (ChurchMilitant -OnePeterFive) listed right off on the first page. It seems that search algorithms defer. At the risk of asking a stupid question when I...

Pope Francis should not resign over allegations he mishandled a sexual abuse scandal, said Steve Bannon, President Donald Trump’s former political strategist who is close to prominent Catholic conservatives. However, Bannon told Reuters he was working on setting up an independent, non-partisan tribunal to investigate decades of scandals within the U.S. Church, warning that dioceses across the country faced financial ruin because of the wrongdoing. “This is as serious as it gets. We can’t have memos and letters and accusations. The pope is from an unbroken chain the Vicar of Christ on Earth. You don’t just sit there and say...

In good times and bad, Popes have never been free to appoint their Bishops. Prior to the 20th century, they had to accommodate secular rulers in the bishoprics' countries. Now they have to accommodate various internal institutional special interests. A Pope should open a special Seminary for Bishops. They should not accept anyone who is angling for admission. The Pope should have agents out throughout the world looking, not only for devout believers, but for men who demonstrate the fortitude to stand up to the incredibly crushing pressure Bishops have to bear.

Following weeks of pressure for Pope Francis to respond to accusations that he played a role in the cover-up of a Catholic Church pedophile ring, the pontiff finally spoke up on the scandal by referring to the victims of abuse as a "pack of wild dogs." During Mass at the Vatican’s Sanctae Marthae guesthouse, the Pope raised the issue by likening the latest child abuse scandal to a biblical story where Jesus is driven out of town by a pack of wild dogs.

Keeping things in perspective…A Word of Caution in Light of the ongoing Vigano Testimony Drama The 11-page testimony letter of “Abp.” Carlo Maria Vigano published on Aug. 25, 2018, has put the Modernist sect in Rome into a credibility crisis so severe that, depending on what happens in the next few days and weeks, it may never be able to recover from it. After over one full week of this controversy, which saw testimony and silence, accusations and denials, claims and counter-claims, verification and contradiction, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of where the whole matter stands. While...

White Double THE PRIMARY AIM OF HIS PONTIFICATE Pius X announced in his first encyclical letter, viz., “to renew all things in Christ.” Here we need but allude to his decree on early and frequent reception of holy Communion; his Motu Proprio on church music; his encouragement of daily Bible reading and the establishment of various Biblical institutes; his reorganization of the Roman ecclesiastical offices; his work on the codification of Canon Law; his incisive stand against Modernism, that “synthesis of all heresies.” All these were means toward the realization of his main objective of renewing all things in...

This question had already been asked, before the September 24 announcement that a group of Catholic scholars from around the world had issued a "filial correction" to Pope Francis, warning him that some of his statements and writings have caused heresy to spread within the church. Needless to say, the news renders this discussion more timely than ever.
