Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Correct - i would vote for Joran Vandersloot or Charles Manson if it meant getting rid of obama from the WH.

You on the other hand require some magical 1000/1000 holier than thou type who did not run this election cycle and would never meet some stupid standard that you created that even Ronald Reagan would not meet today.

Shame on you, and may God have mercy on your willful treatment of a simple, true witness of our Savior.

Uh, Jeff; where does Joseph Smith enter into the equation??

"He (Joseph Smith) is the man through whom God has spoken... yet I would not like to call him a savior, though in a certain capacity he was a god to us, and is to the nations of the earth, and will continue to be."
 - Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 8:321

"You call us fools; but the day will be, gentlemen and ladies, whether you belong to this Church or not, when you will prize brother Joseph Smith as the Prophet of the Living God, and look upon him as a god..."
- Herber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses 5:88

"If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]; if we enter our glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Joseph Smith]"
- (as quoted in 1988 Melchizedek Priesthood Study Guide, p. 142)

There is "no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God"
- Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p.190

"I tell you, Joseph holds the keys, and none of us can get into the celestial kingdom without passing by him. We have not got rid of him, but he stands there as the sentinel, holding the keys of the kingdom of God; and there are many of them beside him. I tell you, if we get past those who have mingled with us, and know us best, and have a right to know us best, probably we can pass all other sentinels as far as it is necessary, or as far as we may desire. But I tell you, the pinch will be with those that have mingled with us, stood next to us, weighed our spirits, tried us, and proven us: there will be a pinch, in my view, to get past them. The others, perhaps, will say, If brother Joseph is satisfied with you, you may pass. If it is all right with him, it is all right with me. Then if Joseph shall say to a man, or if brother Brigham say to a man, I forgive you your sins, "Whosoever sins ye remit they are remitted unto them;" if you who have suffered and felt the weight of transgression—if you have generosity enough to forgive the sinner, I will forgive him: you cannot have more generosity than I have. I have given you power to forgive sins, and when the Lord gives a gift, he does not take it back again."
 - Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p.154-155

"It is because the Lord called Joseph Smith that salvation is again available to mortal men.... If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation,"
 - Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 396, 670

They succeeded in killing Joseph, but he had finished his work.
He was a servant of God, and gave us the Book of Mormon.
He said the Bible was right in the main, but, through the translators and others, many precious portions were suppressed, and several other portions were wrongly translated; and now his testimony is in force, for he has sealed it with his blood.
As I have frequently told them, no man in this dispensation will enter the courts of heaven, without the approbation of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jun.
Who has made this so?
Have I?
Have this people?
Have the world?
No; but the Lord Jehovah has decreed it.
If I ever pass into the heavenly courts, it will be by the consent of the Prophet Joseph.
If you ever pass through the gates into the Holy City, you will do so upon his certificate that you are worthy to pass.
Can you pass without his inspection?
No; neither can any person in this dispensation, which is the dispensation of the fulness of times.
In this generation, and in all the generations that are to come, everyone will have to undergo the scrutiny of this Prophet.
They say that they killed Joseph, and they will yet come with their hats under their arms and bend to him; but what good will it do them, unless they repent?
They can come in a certain way and find favor, but will they?
 Brigham Young,

--JOURNAL OF DISCOURSES, vol. 8, p. 224

I don't believe in Joseph Smith and think LDS are misguided in their faith.

Then why don't you DO something about it?

If she hates Mormons so much, I wonder what she thinks about the Jews.

"SHE" thinks that Jews do not LIE about themselves and call themselves CHRISTIANs now; quite unlike they did in a previous incarnation.

Tell us, what would you say if a Jew were on the ticket?

Your "LOOK!! Over there!!" tactic has been tried oh so many times before.

MormomISM is a damnable heresy.

Do you wish to deny this fact?

Just got your ping..... am now ready to go to work “being brilliant” (/snix).

This election will challenge our heartfelt beliefs like no other. My brain is in overdrive-—turning somersaults as I weigh this factor then that factor.

The illegal thing is very, very fluid-—what pols think one day may change the next....witness Dinky Harry’s 360 degree turnaround on the issue....once he saw votes dangling in front of his squinty eyes.

The proclivities of vote-crazed politicans can (and should) be used to our advantage.

What I see in Romney is an obsessed people-pleaser—this guy will simply do anything to get elected.

WRT his religion-—as the culture becomes more secular, you gotta be happy that when a candidate expresses a belief in God (there’s only One, after all)......this profoundly unnerves the secularists.

That’s the part I like best....driving the Godless nutsy cuckoo.

I think I like Mormons more now too.

Go for it; but I hope you 'like' what their chosen religious organization teaches about Christ when you've gotten deeper into the doctrine.

If credible post-election polls were to show that no Catholic voter voted for Obozo and no Catholic voter voted for Mittler, then you may rest assured that the GOP, at least, would never nominate another evil candidate such as Mittler.

A point worth repeating to those so-called conservatives who urge us to be "practical" and vote for Romney. The right and practical thing to do is deny him votes. It would come at a high cost (Obama gets another 4 years) but the result for the GOP would be worth it. If another 4 years of Obama is what it takes to return the party to conservatism, so be it. Or if Obama can destroy this nation in 8 years, it was already rotten beyond saving.

In any case, people who surrender do not need to be defeated. Voting for a pro-abort, pro-gay who brought socialized medicine to his state -- that's not a compromise, that's a surrender to liberalism.

Compared to Obama/rezko/Jarrett/Axelrod/Biden/Van jones/Ayeres/Wright/Khalidi/Frank Davis/Dohrn et al - i would repeat that statement any day.

Obama has to go. I know some of you on your religious Salem Witch Hunts and jihads really don’t have an issue w obama for 4 more years, but thankfully most of us do and will do the heavy lifting many refuse to do out of a twisted and delusional belief that their so called “sacred principles” in handing obama second term will put them in better standing with God as opposed to voting for the only viable choice to oust this thug in the WH.

They don’t care!!!! Don’t you get it? These people are on a religious jihad and Salem Witch hunt, America, the economy, the jobless, all be damned to their delusional notion that they are doing God’s work to give obama a second term.

They are nuts as Lloyd Blankfein saying Goldman Sachs is doing God’s work.

And they think 2016 a true 100/100 Unicorn perfect GOP candidate will emerge for their salvation? Of course not! No matter who is nominated, WHOEVER IT IS, will be treated the same way by these people. No one is ever good enough and even Ronald Reagan would get trashed were he to run today by this mob.

No, Nana, I have not taught that one in the Primary Classes at church. We have a teching manual we follow which, to date, has not included it.

But that song I quoted sends the same message and I am happy and proud to teach it.

As regards, “Jesus Loves Me,” I have sung it to each and every one of my grandkids to put them to sleep...just as I did to my own kids, and just as it was sung to me.

“Jesus loves me this I know,
For the Bible tells me so.

“Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak, but He is strong.

“Yes, Jesus Loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,

“Yes Jessus loves me,
The Bible Tells me so.”

Sometimes at the end I would substitute, “My Papa tells me so,” for the grandkids or eearlier, “My Daddy tells me so,” for my own kids.

And each and everyone of them knows it by heart.

It too is a very good song for children and adults alike, and holds (as I explained in my prior post) the power to help youth get pointed towards their Savior, and helps fulfill what I consider to be the vision of the founders by creating a moral society based on the moral values that, if followed, produce a people who do not require at all such an overburdensome government. They govern themselves.

As a Catholic, I disagree with some beliefs of other religions and Mormonism is no exception but that does not prevent me from having high regard and respect for individual members of those churches and for each and every good s=aspect of each such church.

So; do you just IGNORE that damnable aspects of MORMONism?

Do you just let the leaders of CATHOLICism blast it's heresies?

Worth it. If we still have what it takes we’ll survive what comes, and recover. If we don’t have what it takes, we’ll let the govt do what govts do, regardless who’s in the Oval Office.

I will not be voting out of fear this November.
