Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

I understand the issues and appreciate your intellectual honesty in so stating. I don’t happen to share your optimism regarding Romney. I see little reason to be optimistic about three of the four items you mentioned given his demonstrated record.

But yes, Obama must go. Thanks for the straight shooting.

You also said this. “And that as a Roman Catholic I have more issue with the Protestant Reformation than with Mormonism.” while responding about Mormons converting Christians.

You know very well that Catholics convert to Mormonism, it is a staple of Mormon conversion.

You seem to prefer Mormonism to your fellow Christians, if a Catholic leaves the Catholic denomination.

Essentially, mormon sources are the anti-mormonism.

Where can we find an 'OFFICIAL MORMON' teaching website??
Official sites are sites supported by LDS officials unless said official sites are considered unofficial by said officials.

At that point such sites are unofficial unless officially referenced for official purposes by officials who can do so officially.

This should not be misconstrued as an indication that official sites can be unofficially recognized as official nor should it be implied that unofficial sites cannot contain official information, but are not officially allowed to be offical despite their official contents due the their unofficialness.

Official sites will be official and recognized as official by officials of the LDS unless there is an official reason to mark them as unofficial either temporally or permanently, which would make the official content officially unofficial.

This is also not to imply that recognized sites, often used on FR by haters and bigots cannot contain official information, it just means that content, despite its official status, is no longer official and should be consider unofficial despite the same information being official on an official site elsewhere.

Even then the officialness my be amended due to the use of the unofficial information which may determine the officialness of anything be it official or unofficial depending on how and where it is used officially or unofficially.
I hope this clear things up for the lurkers out there.
The haters tend to make things complicated and confusing when it is all really quite crystal clear.

But what do you think of the THINGS that I post?

Can you point out the error in ANY of it?

That does drive the Mittbots bonkers, so they attack the messenger instead of the message.

Elsie I have a lot of things to worry about, reading a post that long is not one of them. I’m well aware that Mormonism does not conform to my religious beliefs, and not being a Mormon I am free to tell you that I’m very sure Mormonism is built on pure hogwash.

Nonetheless, Mormonism is a threat to very little and it is not my mission to take on everyone who has strayed from the correct religious path. I know that many here don’t like to hear it, but when I do start to worry about heresy I will reflect first on the actions of Martin Luther.

Everyone is someone else’s heretic. Catholics and Protestants tore up this world a lot longer and with a lot more passion than Mormons.

Now tell me that you consider Catholics to be following the true path. Let’s get specific Elsie, which religion or religions are not engaging in false teachings?

and don’t bs me with definitions rather than specific religions, you are all wound up about Mormons. Surely you do not consider Mormonism the only false teaching. Who on this list is not engaging in false teaching in your view?

Roman Catholics
Greek Orthodox Catholics
All Protestants
Baptists
Jews
Muslims
Budhists

I’ll leave it at that for now, let me know. I know you want to save souls.

Why would you expect Romney to govern as a conservative, when his record shows that he is not. How would that happen?
When he was governor he did not appoint conservative judges, why would he be different as president?
On ObamaCare, he in essence wrote it. I understand he has said he would repeal and replace the bill but his advisers say he is not going to.
Unfortunately, I think there are many conservatives who are hoping that Romney will change who he has been for decades into something else, a conservative.

Reagan did not need rehabilitation on pro-life asd POTUS. He signed a permissive abortion bill as California governor, was shocked at the sheer volume of abortions that immediately resulted, and after about one year's experience with his mistake, he was personally, as governor, going door to door with petitions for an initiative to repeal the law. He was firmly and knowledgeably pro-life before challenging Gerald Ford in 1976 and ever thereafter.

Ayn Rand, in her Ayn Rand Letter to her strongest supporters, told them early in 1976 to reject Reagan in favor of Ford because Reagan was an enemy of abortion which, given her own "lifestyle" of endless serial adultery, seemed like an essential "right" of some sort.

Reagan annually addressed (by telephone hookup) Nellie Gray's Pro-life marches on each anniversariy of Roe vs. Wade during his presidency and even authored a book on the subject: Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation (1983) undoubtedly angering Nancy and the quislings like James Baker, Howard Baker, Michael Deaver, et al., who were always determined not to allow Reagan to be Reagan. He defied them on abortion and at Reykjavik among other occasions.

Romney has NEVER been a pro-lifer in his entire useless life. He is the living embodiment of what Reagan called "pale pastels" not needed in the GOP's banner. He is also a serial liar on most issues that count and bad on all of them.

I don't know where you get the notion that Romney has ever "signed legislation against pro-abortion." I don't suppose you have any facts to back up that editorial opinion.

Two years after (2006 vs. 2004) he CLAIMED to have become "pro-life" Romney did include Planned Barrenhood on the board of Romneycare permanently and made abortions, however complicated, available to all under Romneycare for a mere $50 co-pay. He has yet to publicly repent any provision of Romneycare much less its entrenchment of subsidized abortion on demand for all comers subsidized by each and every citizen of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts via insurance premiums. His successor, Governor Coupe DeVal, has gotten rid of the $50 co-pay.

With the sorry likes of McConnell and Cornyn as Senate GOP leaders and the even worse spineless moneygrubbers Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy running the House, try not to hallucinate that the monarchist GOP-E types will do ANYTHING to write useful legislation without permission from Romney and the Wall Street plutocrats. There would be no similarity whatsoever between a putative President Etch-a-Sketch and Dubya much less Ronaldus Maximus on the pro-life issue. Also, Dubya's mommy (Barbara Bush), and his paternal grandmother (Dorothy Walker Bush) are/were inveterate and unrepentant pro-aborts and so Dubya was overcoming his background to be a pro-lifer and did quite well. In fact Dorothy Walker Bush was for decades a member of the national board of directors of Planned Barrenhood. Romney, to the extent that one may view him through a prism as a Mormon, overcomes his background as well since Mormons are, unlike Mittler, generally reliable pro-lifers.

On what has Chief Justice John Roberts directly betrayed pro-lifers as to abortion??? Calling the "premiums" for Obozocare a "tax" is not such a betrayal although conservatives certainly expected better of him.

they would see that those posts commonly cite mormon sources themselves. Essentially, mormon sources are the anti-mormonism.

Absolutely correct. The poor Mormons run into a brick wall by saying they believe the bible and Mormon sources and put those sources on an equal footing with the bible, only to be shown time after time that their sources contradict the bible. They'd probably fare better if they tried to stick with their Mormon sources, claiming they over ride the bible, except for the fact that no one, other than another Mormon might buy into that fallacy.

It's a false religion based on the lies of a con man who called himself a "prophet". Our Church bible study group is currently studying the Book of Jeremiah, now there's a Prophet!.

Wow you are muddled.

I know perfectly well that Catholics are converting to Mormonism????

I prefer Catholics to become Mormons????

Maybe you live in Salt Lake city pal, but I don’t think I’ve ever met a Mormon in my life. Now having gone to 16 years of Catholic education, and lived among many millions of Catholics my whole life, you are going to tell me that I’ve seen Catholics convert to Mormonism?

I know you don’t get it chum, that many more Catholics convert to Protestantism than to Mormonism. By virtue of sheer numbers of both denominations. I don’t care about that and I don’t care about Mormons.

Sadly some of you live in an alternate universe where Mormons are a big issue.

In fact, so much so that you don’t seem to be worrying about radical Islam. But hey, call me kooky.

Also, Romney never had a ‘conversion’, after 40 years of being an eloquent, even emotional defender of abortion, as a deeply held conviction of himself and his family, Mitt says that in a discussion about stem cell research, he became pro-life, as bloodless and unconvincing that tale is...

Well, given three statements that either he -- or his wife, Ann, have made...it makes more "sense" that he's never changed...

In 2001, Romney was back in Utah to deal with the Olympics.

He didn't like to have to deal with the negative grumble from some pro-life Utah Mormons, so he wrote a letter to the editor of a Utah newspaper that Summer, declaring, "I do not consider myself pro-choice."

Now does that mean he was "pro-life" all along? No...He admitted as much on the 2007 campaign trail...
Jan 29, 2007...He told South Carolinans:
“Over the last multiple years, as you know, I have been effectively pro-choice."
And at the Iowa GOP straw poll debate in August, 2007, he said:
"I never said I was pro-choice, but my position was effectively pro-choice."

So, for seven months he admitted he was "effectively pro-choice."

But the weasel can't always come clean...his 8/12/07 interview with Chris Wallace of Fox: "I never called myself pro-choice. I never allowed myself to use the word pro-choice because I didn't FEEL I was pro-choice."

Yup. In Mormonism it's all about that "bosom" FEELING -- no matter how self-deluded you allow yourself to get.

Then he told Chris Wallace: "I would protect the law, I said, as it was, but I wasn't pro-choice, and so..."

Oh, so he would "protect" the pro-aborts as they bumped off the next generation, but that's not "pro-choice"...'cause he didn't "feel" pro-choice, even though he was "effectively pro-choice."

Comprende, all???

So...as he was "effectively pro-choice," Ann Romney then comes along and does a Parade Mag interview last Fall (2011). So does Ann settle Mitt's schizophrenic mind on who the pre-born are -- once and for all? Nope. Ann Romney muddles her way thru -- just the way Mitt has...:

Parade interviewer: "In the past you’ve said he’s changed positions only once, on abortion. Was that your doing?"

Ann Romney's response: "No, no, I never talked to Mitt about that. Our personal opinions have never changed; we’ve always been pro-life."

Why, Fabian, how dare you call Ann Romney a liar. Ann Romney says the Romneys have "always been pro-life" and that "Our personal opinions [on abortion] have NEVER changed..."

Comprende, Fabian???

The seven laws listed by the Tosefta and the Talmud are[7]

1.Prohibition of Idolatry
2.Prohibition of Murder
3.Prohibition of Theft
4.Prohibition of Sexual immorality
5.Prohibition of Blasphemy
6.Prohibition of eating flesh taken from an animal while it is still alive
7.Establishment of courts of law
___________________________________________

Well Christians dont go in for these...

But Mormons sure do break the 1st 5...

They worship Joey Smith as an idol and “sustain” what he taught..murder, theft, sexual immorality, blasphemy

That last one was corrupted by both Joey Smith and Brighan Young..
