I’m pretty sure silverleaf was being sarcastic in the old-fashioned way (without the warning tags!) ;)

“It was a bold, daring gamble on her part to go the write in ballot route—but it apparently paid off.”

Not yet! Based on what? Military ballots (probably about 10,000+) still to come (due 11/17).

“...and yet people on this board want Joe Miller to give up...”

That’s because FR is infested with “progressive” moles from both major political parties..

The place needs to be hosed down with Lib-B-Gone.

There are a lot of inconsistencies in the voting.

Those inconsistencies are being resolved in Murky’s favor.

I, for one, am bloody sick and tired of losing races by razor thin margins to enemies of the Constitution.

Besides, I thought Alaska had a sore loser law that would prevent primary losers from running as independents.

Which primary loser from the Tea Party ran as an independent?

None that I know of.

Murkowski’s seat was ENDOWED to her by her father in a supreme act of nepotism. That ALONE should disqualify her her in principle, if not in law.

Again, how anybody, I mean ANYBODY could cast a vote for such a hiedously corrupt, morally bankrupt person, I’ll never know, but there were Americans who actually cast votes for the creep clown Franken.

What stupid people.

They should be ashameed of themselves for having such a disregard for the blood of fallen heroes who gave up their lives to defend the Constitution and the PRINCIPLES upon which it is based.

Limited government.
Citizen officeholders.
Accountability.
Responsibility.
Love of Country.
Allegiance to the Constitution.

Murky has NONE of these qualities. She is an endowment queen, treating a Senate seat aa though it were her birthright.

Democrats voted for Murky just to be sure that Miller would lose. They knew their candidate was toast, so Murky’s independent run was just what they needed. They get a Democrat who caucases with the Republicans.

“Miller should preserve his viability for the future and just bow out gracefully.”

Seriously? Come talk to us after the military ballots are counted - or do you wanna go there and talk to those men and women about how their votes won’t count here?!

Miller’s at 87,000+ votes now - if murk gets 90% uncontested she’s at around 88,500, then there’s the military votes. I’ve been saying for days that this isn’t over. Some people are speculating that there are 10,000 military votes - what if Miller out polls murk by 2 or 3K there - then he’d just need about 60% of his challenged votes to hold up in court to win.

Slim but fighting chance, military votes haven’t been counted, but you want him to ‘bow out gracefully’??

Are you serious?

“Sadly, the Republicans DO have a history of bowing out gracefully (i.e. giving up without fighting) and it has gotten us a healthy dose of socialism/Marxism.

Fight for every last LEGAL vote Joe. Certainly that includes EVERY military vote ...YET to be counted.”

EXACTLY Citizen Soldier! This is about much more than Joe Miller and murk, and only Miller GETS THAT. That’s why true Tea Partiers support Joe Miller 110%!!

Fight Vote Fraud.
Fight murky election practices/legal intepretations/rulings.

Bring light into the darkness.

These are large PRINCIPLES at stake here and all across the country (NV, IL, WA, WI).

Come on FReepers - have we forgotten how easily and blithely the RATS stole from us and our children and grandchildren - will we not, should we not go down without fighting for every last legal vote to be counted?

“What I mean is: after ALL the votes are counted, if LM still has a sizable lead, JM should back out. Don’t drag it out with legal challenges to write in ballots.”

If you meant that, why did you say this?

“Miller should preserve his viability for the future and just bow out gracefully.”

Furthermore, should election law matter rbg?

He needs to stay in till the military ballots come in. Something wrong with this system where the military ballots never get counted. They send them out too late for them to get back in time for the general election, then a winner has already been declared before they get back so they just get thrown away. This needs to stop! They need to have those ballots in the mail by the first of September. I believe it is deliberate and no one seems to care. Looks like some state official would be on this and holding somebody accountable for getting the military ballots in the mail in time for them to get back by election day.

So SHUT UP about your 3rd grade math Tim.

If he could do math, he wouldn't be a lawyer. Jeez - give the RINO-loving RINO a break.

of course count the military/absentee ballots,

but stop using lawyers to challenge murkowski write ins where people forgot to dot an “i” ( I saw this on the news)

that is demeaning and embarrassing, and resembles the Gore 2000 FL challenges to disenfranchise military ballots

Just like RINOs are - McLame, Graham cracker and the rest of ‘em - enemy moles in the midst of our camp. And they’re blatant and proud of it.

How do you propose we deal with that, practically speaking?

a short list of ideas.

First of all. Whenever someone shows up several days after the initial vote count with uncounted ballots they need to be arrested on the spot, go to jail and don't count the votes. Let the courts decide guilt or innocent. Brutal yes but effective.

All ballot boxes nest to be tracked by signature and contain a GPS tracking device. Such tracking should be made available to the public via the Internet.

If you work for a Union, a political party, pac, etc...you cannot maintain, observed or be in a polling area unless you are voting. Poll worker must not have an agenda. During the voting process the Poll worker should be monitored with cameras that are accessible over the Internet by everyone.

Final Tallies in a close races should not be recounted until all of the votes are in. Military Vote should count. If you cannot get the military votes before the deadline and it someone’s fault they are late. They need to be fired and investigated.

All recounts are to be done in an open public forum. Any valid proof of shenanigans, the recount should cease immediately until the situation is resolved, publicly. Any closed door meetings or agreement nullifies the results. A runoff election must occur within two week at the expense of the offender(s), taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for screwups.

All voters must produce a valid ID before voting. No provisional BS. If you aren't registered or don't have an ID you don't vote.

You’re so right. Look where this was the greatest problem - IL and NY - both blue states (well IL more than NY, except at the statewide office level - did NY Senate go back to the GOP by the way??)

I never thought it could get this close but strange things happen.

As you say it isn’t over by a long shot. It appears that Miller has about a 25K lead over actual write-ins for Murkowski with some 29K write-ins left to count. Then there may be squabbles and the potential court cases over the other boxes that contain the questioned write-in name/spelling/etc.

Then we have the overseas Military/Civilian ballots which the cut off date for receiving is Nov. 17, I believe. AK had about 13K of these in 08 but I can’t find the 06 number which would be more similar as it was a mid-term election.

Anyway it isn’t over and may become one of those races with only a few hundred votes separating the two.
