We all know the left hate Sarah Palin with a passion surpassed only by their loathing for Rush Limbaugh. The list of leftist political, media, and cultural figures who have insulted, smeared, misrepresented, and concocted hit jobs against her is long and varied. With predictable hypocrisy and lack of human decency, they also went after her children, a new trendsetting low for the talking heads America is rapidly coming to despise.

The fact that she is disliked by many does not mean that she “scares” anyone.
We dislike Franken, Pelosi, Sharpton, Maxine Waters, Grayson, etc. But that does not mean that they “scare” us.
Most candidates have a team of "advisers" with whom they can talk through policy issues, whether complex economic policy or sensitive foreign policy matters.
Who is advising Sarah? Her husband Todd?
There is NO comparision.
And just who does compare to Reagan? If there was a man or woman in the political arena today who did, we would put any of SP's presidential aspiration's on the shelf. Indeed, I am frustrated with our current crop of presidential candidates, as I am sure that you are too.
Until we find the next "Reagan", we have to work with the team we have. Frankly, I love to see the left gnash their teeth at the sound of "Sarah Palin".

The Labour Government is in trouble. Economic woes are piling up and the Conservatives are in full cry. Unfortunately, that cry may not be what voters want to hear. For the voice lambasting the Government is rather shrill, strangulated and uncomfortable on the ear. Tory backbenchers are uneasy. The media are all over the story. Dramatic action is needed.It is the mid-1970s and Margaret Thatcher's aides send for a voice coach. The rest is history. The Conservative leader ditches a voice that could strip the paint off the door of No10 for something deeper and more resonant. It might still make small children cry when it booms out of the television and cause Whitehall buildings to crumble when raised in anger against a cabinet “wet”. But there is no doubt that this voice has authority. Thatcher goes on to win three general elections.
My house full of conservatives did the same thing yesterday at the sound of her voice.
I do sincerely apologize to earlJam. My response WAS thoughtless. In the future I’ll think twice, then think again, before I hit the post button. Just getting sick and tire of what I perceive, rightly or wrongly, as Palin bashing going on where I least expected it. But that is no excuse for my bad manners.
earlJam was posting his experiences. I had no business to publicly doubt him or imply he was being dishonest, just because my experience was different.

Agreed. Although he has been largely out of the national spotlight, he would be my best guess. I have not seen him in years. Yet, I do not want mama grizzly to fade.
It might be ideal if she does not run, while Barbour and someone else ascends to the White House. The left will chase their tails going after her while missing the real target.
My wife, who likes Sarah, sees too many Republican women that don't like Sarah and my wife has hopes that she will not run.
Women in politics, as opposed to other meritocracies, are selected by the voters and there is and always has been a misogynistic aspect to voters for the top office. It is what made Hillary so vulnerable in her own party.
Sarah Palin can win the arch conservative vote toward some of the primaries, but the farther we get away from voters that are voting on strict adherence to principles, the lower her numbers will be despite her very best efforts.
As a King Maker, she would be a key to our win, as a candidate she has a more difficult future.
BTW, it takes a lot of heart to apologize on an anonymous forum. You set a great example!
I wouldn't discount Todd's advice so easily. Policy wonks are a dime a dozen.
The old GOP Establishment has got to go, they are not “of the people”. Rove, the Bushes, and thier ilk have got to be removed from all aspects of the party.
I'm content to watch this all play out for the moment. As of right now, looking at the list of likely contenders, Palin would be my first choice. But there's a lot of time between now and the primaries, and it's not even close to certain yet as to who will run and what support they will pick up from those who don't.
For example, I'm assuming DeMint is honestly not seriously considering a run for himself. But who he endorses might very well be critically important, especially considering the relative importance of the South Carolina primary.
One thing is for sure, though. Anyone who hasn't already started laying the groundwork to run is probably already too late -- that's going to limit the field dramatically, and lot of the "fan choices" are probably out because they are already too far behind.
Oh, I could get on my high-horse and get all defensive .... but rude is rude. If I can recognize it in others then I need to see it in myself as well. I spent my girlhood mouthing off impetuosly, then having to apologize. I’m almost sixty, and I still can act like a jerk sometimes. Sigh.

‘First Gentleman” : what a concept!
It is something that will intrigue the masses.
Her campaign, if she runs, should not be afraid to make the most of him.
The sad thing is how they believe they are so smart (and some of them actually are), and yet lack the perception to realize that they've fallen prey to groupthink. And worse, a breed of groupthink that presumes that anyone who disagrees with it is dumb.

Sarah is well aware of this aspect of her voice. I suspect she’s currently working on this.
Is Todd a foreign policy expert?
Does he have a reputation as an economic expert?

LOL...I'm glad you resisted the urge to stoop to personal attacks.
I don't mean to embarrass but if you reread my comment(s), I think you'll notice that you have drawn the wrong conclusions. I am a Sarah supporter who lives in a small town. I was merely commenting that Sarah will need to win voters from both rural and urban locales.
