NEW YORK - Occupy Wall Street may still be working to shake the notion it represents a passing outburst of rage, but some establishment institutions have already decided the movement’s artifacts are worthy of historic preservation.
More than a half-dozen major museums and organizations from the Smithsonian Institution to the New-York Historical Society have been avidly collecting materials produced by the Occupy movement....

I’ve had a look-see for myself. While I would draw the line at collecting dried feces and used syringes, I’ve seen some stuff that could be called “artsy”. I’d love to purchase the work of that dude who was earlier article lamenting the fact that he quit his publik skewl teaching job to back and get a master’s in puppeteering but couldn’t find any paying work in his field.
And let’s be evenhanded here. How much taxpayer lucre has the United States Park Service spent over the last twenty-eight years gathering up and lovingly warehousing every letter, photograph, medal and half-pint of Jack Black left behind at the Vietnam Memorial?
Hardly an exact comparison, I’ll be the first to admit, but still...

Virtually all awards about politics or world affairs are handed out by libs giving the awards to other libs. That’s why clowns like Michael Moore and Cornell West are better known than Thomas Sowell.
Where can I contact these cuties and tell them that the last month I spent at Occupy Their City was very meaningful for me, and brought back fond memories of my time at Woodstock. Yeah, sure, I was there. Carried Jimi’s guitar for him. Sure. And the Summer of Love in the Haight - there for that too. And the Free Speech Movement at Berkeley, and tripping with Timothy at Millbrook, and rioting in Chicago in ‘68 with Tom, and helping him put together the Port Huron Statement before that. Hanging with Che in Cuba back in the day - yeah, great guy, we were like brothers, ya’ know. So yeah, see if you can get a message to those fine women for me, will ya’? Give ‘em my number, OK?
