Panicked Romney Flailing Wildly as Newt Pulls-Out NINE POINT LEAD in Florida
Reaganite Republican ^ | January 23, 2012 | Reaganite Republican

Posted on 01/23/2012 7:03:02 AM PST by Reaganite Republican

Rasmussen just put out fresh numbers- Gingrich is up 41-32% over Mittens in delegate-rich jackpot Florida. Rich Santorum garners just 11, Ron Paul 8.

Insider Advantage also has a new poll out today placing Newt up BIG already (+8.8%) in Florida, this coming on the heels of an interesting Gallup finding: 'unelectable' Gingrich has closed to a statistical dead-heat in a November Obama matchup (!).  This would be the same Gallup polling organization who's editor-in-chief (Frank Newport) saw Romney's support nationally 'collapsing' even before his demoralizing SC spanking.

Others who make a living handicapping (and wagering upon) these things -like InTrade- have stock in a Gingrich victory in Florida soaring, now standing at 55%.

As you've probably heard by know, Romney has chosen to go
full scorched-earth on Gingrich in Florida, and already has surrogates Chris 'Krispy Kreme' Christie and Tim 'Dull as Dishwater' Pawlenty doing some of his dirty work.  But Mittens himself seems dour and embittered in the wake of South Carolina... like it's somebody else's fault he got his butt handed to him. He also seems lost when unable to simply purchase or order what he wants... Mittens has spent $7M on (mostly negative) media in Florida, and this is the result he's getting- ouch.

As for the much-ballyhooed Romney campaign organisation, they stunk it up in SC, and now the Florida staff is said to be freaking-out as he continues to slide in most any poll you care to look at. After being taken for granted and manipulated by the GOP old-guard for the last couple years, the TEA Party movement is finding it's inner Chuck Norris and standing-up for the right to choose a nominee who represents our conservative values... not those of  a spoiled, ossified DC elite.

The hollow, manufactured inevitability argument for Romney now seems dead-in-the-water, as caustic negative attacks upon the former House Speaker have for the most part backfired... serious momentum on the side of Team Gingrich has this backer expecting a continued surge in poll numbers in the coming days, most likely beginning with tonight's Tampa debate.

It was the blow up in the middle east that killed any chance Carter had. And likewise if things heat up over in Iran Obama is equally doomed.

I'll give you another reason that seems likely regardless of Iran: $5/gal gasoline this summer. If Iran blows, then figure $6+. Game Over.

The brain trust on planet Kolob is in disarray and panic over why their Romney guy is making such a mess of things.

Hannity always was more moderate, but he faked it during the heavy Rush years to gain an audience.

Rush is all about Rush. He is mostly thinking of his ratings. He stays luke warm on candidates, so not to anger their supporters. If you haven't noticed, he always plays both ends. He likes to be seen as neutral, and mostly attacks Obama from a strong Conservative position.

Most all Republican candidates are off limits for strong criticism. We will see, if Rush finally takes a strong stand for a candidate, but I am not betting on it.

Correction: No place on television.

As the internet becomes more and more the source for news, the elites become more desperate to control it. That much of the public backed hacker group Anonymous’s attack against the government after the megaupload thing has got.to be scaring them right now. They had to think that at least the left, and much more of the law and order believing right would condemn that. The sympathy the government received in the quarters it came from was tepid at best, even among people who would never violate copyrights. The veil has been torn away.

This is Hillary /Obama 2008 all over again..except on the Republican side. Once actual voting began, the “inevitable” and the long establishment favorite started to crumble.

Good point.

Awesome, thanks.

We can legitimately say that recent polls, as of today, show Newt running as strong against obama as Romney. That is a huge development.

Romney has NO arguments left. His inability and unwillingness to defend his Bain record has hurt him, also.

Agreed on each and every point, PF

Looking forward to tonight’s debate... there’s a reason Romney tried to wiggle out of them lol

I don’t agree that Hannity is a moderate. But he seems that way sometimes cuz he is playing to ratings and is stifled by Fox News and the ultimate desire to keep his job.

What bothers me about Rush is that he seems to always be on defense. I love his views on everything Conservative but now as in ‘08, he’s reacting to Obama and his actions constantly and somewhat frantically.

Notice how many times all of these talk show hosts use the word Obama.
And lately, it seems like he is all over the place with his analyses.
The main points of most of his shows can be summed up in one paragraph.

I still love Maharushi but my main go to guy is and always has been Levin. He says it like it is, doesn’t give a rat’s arse what anyone thinks of him(unlike his buddy Hannity) and is a core Constitutionalist and a brilliant scholar and teacher of it.
I just got his new book Ameritopia from Amazon. Book reviews anyone?

I'm looking for the "viable third-party candidate" to come out of the woods about now. I can't see another way Obama can win except by plurality.

It's a real possibility to me, that someone like Ross Perot will come along (maybe even the same initials as Perot) that will steal the conservative base away from a "flawed" GOP candidate, and Obama wins with an anemic 40-42%

When you see the MSM starting to focus on a "marginal" candidate and comment on his "originality and energy capturing the imaginations of the voters", you will know the fix is in. Likewise, the GOP candidates will be encouraged to go negative on each other - the more wounded the primary winner, the better.

I pray to God--and I REALLY do--to keep Newt "walking humbly before Him". When Newt's ego gets too big--I pray God show him how dangerous that is--and speak to him through His Holy Spirit and impress upon him the truth of His word:

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom".

And we NEED Newt to NOT just "lean not on his own understanding", but to also seek God's wisdom--because without that we are ALL (whether we want to admit it or not) DOOMED!

IOW--PRAY FOR NEWT! Because I--again REALLY!--believe he is our best hope for bringing down the Obamanation!

Two simple reasons for Newt’s SC victory:

#1 The people loathe Obama and how he has wrecked our country
#2 The people loathe the main stream media for protecting Obama and the Leftists.

And Newt articulates this loathing better than anyone

Nothing more; nothing less than this

Romney himself talking to Huckabee about Gingrich on this video, saying if you believe Gingrich is not a Washington insider, then you must also believe that Clinton didn't inhale:

It's about a 1:20 min video. Sorry if already posted.

And when Newt is on a roll, get out of the way. Let's hope Santorum is smart enough to figure it out, like Perry did. (Not holding my breath that “little Ricky” is even smart enough to understand it

Santorum will stay in to mess it up for Newt. It is likely a certainty that Mitt's people are begging Santorum to stay in. In the end, little Rick always goes with the establishment.

I hope Rick stays in and both he and Mitt get crushed.

Good analysis. I have absolutely no doubt that Rush is a hard core Conservative. I think Rush knows and trusts that the Conservatives will mostly on their own gravitate to the "clearest" conservative in the race.

Rush rightly wouldn't want the media to use his direct endorsement to say Candidate X won because of his influence.

It will be interesting to see how he weaves it this week.

Rush has always said that his job is not to win elections, but to do the best radio show he can, and get the best ratings and ad rates.

As many of you know, Reaganite Republican has for some time been posting superb essays to FR on a regular basis, incisive commentary as well as some very funny stuff. His website is also worth checking out..and happily he doesn't pimp his website on FR, as many do..he posts everything on FR.

But being a very modest soul, he does forget to engage in any self-promotion, always forgetting to include his ping list request.

So, please, if you've enjoyed this latest post of his, as well as others, do FReepmail him and ask to be included on his ping list.

Thank you..
