Yes Santorum is toast and so is Newt Gingrich:

You're happy about that if it ends up being true and the Romney will be the nominee?

“30 years ago” ? That was sure weird math.

The democrats will attack a man converting to Catholicism years ago ? I don’t think that is the way to hold on to Catholics and Hispanics, weird that you call converting a “cheap ploy”, are you anti-Catholic?

Women don’t like Santorum, they kicked him out of his Senate seat with 39%, they knew him extremely well.

As we face with every conservative, all of the money and guns are directed against the conservative, as the GOP-e and the left strive to smother him to keep the fight from becoming a head to head race with the Democrat nominee, where in a head to head race, with equal money, the conservative leader destroys the Democrat.

Gingrich is the only man capable of taking on Obama in a head to head contest, Santorum can’t do it, there is a reason that Santorum saw Mitt Romney as the true conservative, the man to lead America and the conservative movement, Santorum is not a conservative leader, never has been.

There is also a reason that most Santorum voters see Romney as their second choice, rather than the most conservative Gingrich.

"“30 years ago” ? That was sure weird math."

Yep, I realized right after I hit post that it was off. Only by a factor of two or so, though.. ;-)

"The democrats will attack a man converting to Catholicism years ago ? I don’t think that is the way to hold on to Catholics and Hispanics, weird that you call converting a “cheap ploy”, are you anti-Catholic?"

Anti-Catholic? No...

Wary of the motives of politicians? Yes...

"Women don’t like Santorum, they kicked him out of his Senate seat with 39%, they knew him extremely well."

There were many factors in that election, certainly not the least was rampant anti-GWB/Republican sentiment. Not a thing to do with the current elections.

"As we face with every conservative, all of the money and guns are directed against the conservative, as the GOP-e and the left strive to smother him to keep the fight from becoming a head to head race with the Democrat nominee, where in a head to head race, with equal money, the conservative leader destroys the Democrat."

I think you're fooling yourself if you think Gingrich would "destroy" 0bama (figuratively, of course lol).

"Gingrich is the only man capable of taking on Obama in a head to head contest, Santorum can’t do it, there is a reason that Santorum saw Mitt Romney as the true conservative, the man to lead America and the conservative movement, Santorum is not a conservative leader, never has been."

Santorum's lifetime conservative rating is only a couple points behind Gingrich, and his last year in office it was 91. He is in fact one of the more conservative people in government. Again, is he perfect? No. Just the best available.

"There is also a reason that most Santorum voters see Romney as their second choice, rather than the most conservative Gingrich."

Care to provide a source for that assertion? It's also true that if Gingrich were to drop out, the vast majority of his supporters would go to Santorum.

Women do not like Santorum, it was true when he only won 39% of them for reelection and it is true in the primaries, and Santorum does not have the charisma and intellect to overcome that in the general, Obama will devastate him.

Obama charms women, and is persuasive when by himself or against a weak opponent, Gingrich can deconstruct that pose, and turn Obama into a weak, shallow, pretender that women are repulsed by, one reason that most women don’t like Santorum already.

I said that Santorum is not a conservative leader, he isn’t, he never has been a leader, Obama would chew him up head to head.

Gingrich is hated for the same reasons that Palin is hated precisely because he IS an effective conservative leader.

RE :”Yet, you say nothing about Newt at all. Why is this? Are you saying that Newt is happy with Obama forcing the Catholic church to pay for contraception?

You say I say nothing about Newt ‘at all’ in that comment which to you means that is that I am accusing him of something, and you demand to know what...

HA-HA

Thanks for the laugh :)

I asked you - what does Newt believe on this issue.

I’ll ask you again. What does Newt believe on this issue.

You failed to answer the question posed. I’m giving you another chance.

Gingrich has sky-high negatives among women.

Santorum does much better among woman than Newt. Those are the facts.

Gingrich is the conservative, and is one of the most hated conservatives in America, he is the leader that led conservatism between Reagan and Palin, of course the left will keep his negatives high for as long as they can, especially with the help of the GOP-e and Romney.

Santorum, being largely a no one all of his career, does not draw, has not drawn, the attention that a conservative leader does, yet women still don’t like him, and they didn’t when he held office and they kicked him out of it, something that did not happen to Newt.

In a one on one with Obama, Obama easily destroys Santorum in front of the females, he will also lose many males as he is shown as a Milquetoast lawyer type.

Gingrich, in a head to head with Obama can destroy Obama, dismantle him, show his intellectual weakness and shallow grasp of America and history, Gingrich can increase his standing with women when on the same stage as Obama, Santorum cannot.

Polling right now, is different than polling once the candidate becomes the fully backed party leader, we learned this with Reagan, polling is what the moderates always used against him as being too conservative to win in the general.

“Gingrich is the conservative, and is one of the most hated conservatives in America”

And Santorum isn’t? I would surmise that Santorum is far, far more hated by the homosexual lobby for his support of traditional marriage.

“he is the leader that led conservatism between Reagan and Palin”

Uh - no. Sorry. Where was he when he was out of office in 1998? There’s a good 10+ years that Newt was a no show.

“the left will keep his negatives high”

It’s not just the left - Newt’s problem is with Conservative women.

“Santorum, being largely a no one all of his career”

Santorum has been a sitting Senator in a purple state who’s been one of the most outspoken defenders of conservativism.

“does not draw, has not drawn, the attention that a conservative leader”

So you want someone who draws the crowd, attracts attention, etc. Where was Newt from 1998 to 2008? Was he a high draw? I don’t see it. When Santorum was slugging it out, Newt was sitting on the bench. When Newt was soaring, Santorum was slugging it out with him.

“yet women still don’t like him”

Women do like him, and they like him much better than they like Newt.

“they kicked him out of it, something that did not happen to Newt.”

Newt was kicked out as Speaker of the House and resigned. So yes, he didn’t get as far as to lose an election because he quit.

“In a one on one with Obama, Obama easily destroys Santorum”

Santorum has outperformed Newt vs Obama in the head to head, consistantly. Do I need to quote you some polls to show you that this is in fact the case? You are wrong here.

“he will also lose many males as he is shown as a Milquetoast lawyer type.”

I thought he was a neanderthal. Is he a neanderthal or a milquetoast? I’m not sure.

“Gingrich, in a head to head with Obama can destroy Obama”

Not with 65-75 percent unfavourability.

“Gingrich can increase his standing with women when on the same stage as Obama, Santorum cannot.”

When you hit 65-75 percent unfavourability - you are not going to convince these people to switch to you. Newt loses badly vs. Obama.

“polling is what the moderates always used against him as being too conservative to win in the general.”

But you’re using that same polling to dismiss Santorum. I agree with you that we should be looking at state polls, not the national or the head to head vs. Obama. However - Newt has been beaten by Santorum, everywhere except South Carolina.

If Newt really is the better Candidate, why does he struggle to beat Romney outside of the South? He can’t win with just the South, and he certainly can’t win when his state polling has him finishing behind Ron Paul.

That was too rambling, try to tighten it up so that I can make sense of it.

I do know that Gingrich has earned himself a place in conservative lore and American history books as one of America’s greatest conservative leaders, ever, Santorum has never done anything.

I have been told I am not the best at defending Newt ...
but...I wouldn't be surprised if he is staying away from this specific issue so he can get the jump on RS while the ‘we have a right to free birth control’ angry mob is following RS with torches and pitchforks and signs that say "IF you are a woman Rick hates you!".

But not saying I know anything...don't want to upset anyone LOL
