Left convinced Americans will not fight for 2nd Amendment rights

Once cowed at the thought of provoking 2nd Amendment supporters, leftists will soon attempt to ban “assault weapons” (and much more) as legislation offered by Diane Feinstein makes its way to the Senate floor. It seems that DC liberals have finally become convinced that American gun owners are too cowardly, too lazy or too dependent upon the financial "generosity" of Big Brother to fight for their 2nd Amendment rights.

During the past 4 years, the gun banning left have watched as American buyers broke sales records in the purchase of semi-automatic rifles. Opting for these and other powerful, efficient weapons it is estimated that some 100 million private citizens are now in possession of over 300 million firearms. And these numbers continue to grow with each passing month.

Yet it’s against this backdrop of America’s determination to assert the fundamental permanence of 2nd Amendment guarantees that Diane Feinstein, Michael Bloomberg, Barack Obama and others will choose to implement gun bans, demand the federal registration of...

> Live Free or Die indeed.

Just a meaningless motto, now.

Most people living up here don’t even know where it comes from. You could mumble any vacant platitude and it would mean the same to them. “Good morning,” has more meaning to the average NH dweller.

Everybody knows police officers, sheriff deputies, state troopers....and most people, myself included, know where many of these cops live. And nearly every home in these parts has multiple firearms.

That can work both ways. In my rural county there are deputies who are useless and some that are bad. There are long term hatreds here and there. When the SHTF they may unite, but I wouldn't count on it.

Yes because you have low income minorities willing to engage in the drug trade and many if not most have served time. Do you really think the gun owners in America will be willing to carry semis knowing it’s a 10 year minimum? After a few thousand get put away, separated from family, friends and bussiness..the message will be loud and clear.

They're gonna change the rules of the Senate, and then they'll break off the faction of northeastern RINOs in the house like Peter King and... voila!

Piece of pie. Easy as cake. Stroke of the pen, law of the land.

The drug trade exists, and has existed despite nearly 100 years of prohibition, because a very large and diverse segment of the US population wants “recreational” narcotics. This group sees nothing wrong or immoral about owning and using them; just as we see nothing wrong or immoral about owning and using firearms.

This country’s disastrous flirtation with alcohol prohibition proved that the government cannot ban a product when so many of the people see that product’s use socially acceptable behavior. While most people will not risk punishment for something they see as immoral, they are far more willing to take that risk for something they see as acceptable. They did with alcohol, they do with narcotics, and they will with firearms. Thus the War on Alcohol failed, the War on Drugs is failing, and a War on Guns will fail.

History has shown that these types of miscalculations start wars.

The market, black or not, evaporates from hoarding and attrition and bureaucracy.

Tell that to the Rum-Runners of the Prohibition days, That’s where the Kennedy clan got their start-up money.

Tell that to the Drug-runners of the last fifty years, Drugs are more plentiful now than ever before.

Banning something, no matter what it is only increases it’s desirability and “Someone” will step up to provide for it.

You're forgetting their Republican allies and enablers.

Nope, them we try and hang after regaining control, like always with traitors.

Another thing is the fact that the US is heavily nuclear armed. I’m personally not very comfortable with the idea of a nazi-style government having control of those weapons!

I love your courage, but what will you do when a couple of nice-looking, well-spoken Feds get you on a traffic stop...then read back what you have posted here...and tell you that your house is, as they speak, being searched? And then you are arrested on the spot, denied bond, and given 15 years in a 23 hour lock down max security?

This is exactly what they want because they know they have the upper hand for now. Conservatives must prevent this at all cost even if it includes policing our own.

What makes you think that everyone with a gun would risk the lives of their families?

Because we outnumber the bad guys that want to take guns about a thousand to one, and we won't go quietly to the gas chambers?

You just need to give it up. What you are peddling ain't selling.

If there are not even enough of us to elect politicians who will work to ensure our gun rights are preserved, what makes you think there are enough to actually win a war?

I and tens of millions of others have too much to lose by not being afraid. You on the other hand have allowed your fear of gun control push you over the edge threatening all of us who love our country.
