"I don’t want to hear from any political moron who demands conservative purity." Bob Grant

"Mitt should have picked Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey as his running mate. Christie knows how to hit back. I only hope that by 2016 the GOP is smart enough to vote for Governor Christie. If they don’t pick him, then they might as well forget about being a national party. They can also forget about guys like me.

There will be no point in allowing Hillary Clinton to pull another phony campaign out of her purse. I will be watching my fellow Republicans. And I don’t want to hear from any political moron who demands conservative purity. Those days are long gone. Forget it. And you Republicans also need to forget about identifying yourselves as a certain specific Republican. You don’t see the Democrats bifurcate themselves."

Not a problem Bob. Thirteen years of reading conservative news and this is the first time I've ever heard of you. Bye.

I remember hearing this about President Weld and President Giuliani.

And keep off Mr. Grant’s lawn!

If we had had a Preidential candidate that knew how to hit back, we wouldn’t have “needed” Christie. He’s great for NJ, but nationally we need someone more conservative than either Romney or Christie.

We need a candidate with his Christie’s debating skills, but without many of his rino tenancies.

Bob Grant was a conservative voice in the wilderness for many years, but he is wrong here.

Christie is wrong on too many core issues and should never be our candidate for President. He is the best that can be produced in New Jersey, but he will not be acceptable outside of the Northeast.

Christie is a liability. His ego is bigger than his brain, and he talks without thinking.

Bob Grant comes out of the closet as a PhonyCon Northeastern Liberal

Expecting Conservatives to be “conservatives” is not demanding purity.

If “The Bob Grant Mandatory Sterilization Program” had been enacted some 30 or more years ago, when he first started talking about it, we’d be in much better shape in this country today. For one thing, there’d be a lot fewer gimme-gimme cretins in our inner cities. And the list goes on.

Don’t see how he’s right about a surrender to liberalism merely to get GOP candidates elected—if that ploy ever worked, which it doesn’t. Guess Grant doesn’t believe that God will be against us if we continue to embrace abominations, and does believe that party must stand over principle?

Mitt should have picked Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey as his running mate.

And we all know that Christie definitely thought that, too, when he showed what a petty, vindictive person he is by being all chummy with Obama right before the election.

It’s official. The GOP is the left’s other political party. Not only has Bob Grant grown mushy and his skin mottled with brown, but he’s growing fuzzy with mold and starting to stink up the joint. Time for the Tea Party to toss the GOP into the trash heap next to the Whig Party.

Ok, you may want to start the march in Jan 2013, I do not.
No point whatsoever to “pick my candidate” before I know who may be interested.
We know Christie is interested - I will not vote for him (although I do like how he berates unions).
We know the GOPe wants another “moderate to liberal” Republican - I will not vote for them.
So until I know who is interested, I will not “pick my candidate”.

As a side note, people on FR will in fact support a liberal Republican, they supported Romney.

I don’t know yet, and I’m not really ready to say. That is while I have a pick, if someone else comes along that can better meet those requirements, I will pay attention.

I view McConnell as being afraid of his own shadow and Rubio as too willing to use amnesty to court hispanics. Scott might be okay and I do have my eye on others that may be in the running.

“We are all Progressive Oppressors now, just different types of lefties, and don’t you forget it!”

Yes, vigorous dialogue between the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks for a more glorious socialist future! The question of whether the party shall direct the state, or whether the state shall be directed by the party SHALL be resolved! Forward comrades!
