The Left Is Convinced Americans Won’t Fight For 2nd Amendment Rights

Once cowed at the thought of provoking Second Amendment supporters, leftists will soon attempt to ban “assault weapons” (and much more) as legislation offered by Dianne Feinstein makes its way to the Senate floor. It seems that D.C. liberals have finally become convinced that American gun owners are too cowardly, too lazy or too dependent upon the generosity of Big Brother to fight for their Second Amendment rights.

During the past four years, the gun banning-Left have watched as American buyers broke sales records in the purchase of semi-automatic rifles. Opting for these and other powerful, efficient weapons, it is estimated that some 100 million private citizens are now in possession of over 300 million firearms. And these numbers continue to grow with each passing month.

Yet it’s against this backdrop of America’s unprecedented determination to assert the fundamental permanence of Second Amendment guarantees that Diane Feinstein, Michael Bloomberg, Barack Obama and others will choose to implement gun bans, demand the federal registration of firearms, and even legislate outright confiscation.

Maybe Democrats are confident that fallout from Sandy Hook will provide the floor votes necessary to disarm the American people. But if the Left is willing to risk picking this fight with millions of American gun owners, it must also believe something far more important—that Americans who have spent years arming themselves against the ultimate expression of tyranny by their own government–the overthrow of the Second Amendment– will choose to not fight when the time finally comes.

I am VERY pleased to see the action the state of Wyoming has taken... an absolute refusal to carry out the federales’ attempts to suppress 2A rights, including arrest of BATFE agents. Hopefully many others will follow suit.

If you care to read a few words out of that “little book”, as Piers Morgan described it, you will find the Constitution was written to form a government so that we might enjoy the blessings of liberty. That government was designed from the bottom up with limited powers in order to protect the rights that the Creator gives to all humans by right of birth, rights that exist outside of any government.

A free press is essential to preserve liberty and protect the country from a government run amok. This was seen the the famous reporting of Woodward and Burstein in the Watergate coverup. The right of free expression in speech, media and in internet commentary is so precious that it is my duty to preserve the First Amendment so that my grandchildren can fully exercise it should some future crisis necessitate it.

Similarly, just because I don’t need to fully exercise the pre-existing rights recognized in Second Amendment today doesn’t relieve me of the duty and obligation to pass those rights uninfringed and unencumbered to those same grandchildren just in case they must exercise them to protect their liberty.

The truth is that nobody can know what future crisis will give some future government an excuse to break free of the powers this same Constitution limits it to, nor how it may abuse the enumerated powers it has. So while I may not really need this style of rifle today anymore than I really need 30 pages of Husler Magazine. I am obligated to make sure my children and grandchildren can freely exercise their right to them or else I have not been a good citizen.

I am not sure what to make of this idea from the leftards...

History tells us that some people are designed to war, and to fight. Especially when they believe that there is an innocence or a right to protect. (Feminism hasn’t killed off all of the testosterone yet)

I saw a bumper sticker, on a big black SUV driven by 35 something male, the other day that both gave me chills and made me laugh out loud:

I think Obama wants a war, and I really wonder if he knows that there seem to be people who would love to give it to him, personally.

Reading comments on news sites, people out in the open are reveling in the idea of killing him!

They must really believe it is just talk- or they really want this communism in a very big way.

"Gun Control" is a firm grip, steady breathing, accurate aim (developed by lots of practice), and a slow trigger pull.


The Swiss have got it CORRECT !
We need to learn from the Swiss and implement their "gun control measures" here in the United States right now, today!
These laws are the ones we should shove into the "2nd Amendment Haters" faces.

" Today, military service for Swiss males is universal. At about age 20, every Swiss male goes through 118 consecutive days of recruit training in the Rekrutenschule. ...

Even before required training begins, young men and women may take optional courses with the Swiss army's M57 assault rifle.
They keep that gun at home for three months and receive six half-day training sessions.

From age 21 to 32, a Swiss man serves as a "frontline" troop in the Auszug, and devotes three weeks a year (in eight of the 12 years) to continued training.
From age 33 to 42, he serves in the Landwehr (like America's National Guard); every few years, he reports for two-week training periods.
Finally, from ages 43, to 50, he serves in the Landsturm; in this period, he only spends 13 days total in "home guard courses."

Over a soldier's career he also spends scattered days on mandatory equipment inspections and required target practice.
Thus, in a 30-year mandatory military career, a Swiss man only spends about one year in direct military service.
Following discharge from the regular army, men serve on reserve status until age 50 (55 for officers).

By the Federal Constitution of 1874, military servicemen are given their first equipment, clothing and arms.
After the first training period, conscripts must keep gun, ammunition and equipment an ihrem Wohnort ("in their homes") until the end of their term of service.

Today, enlisted men are issued M57 AUTOMATIC assault rifles and officers are given pistol.
Each reservist is issued 24 rounds of ammunition in sealed packs for emergency use.
(Contrary to Handgun Control's claim that "all ammunition must be accounted for," the emergency ammunition is the only ammo that requires accounting.)

After discharge from service, the man is given a bolt rifle free from registration or obligation.
Starting in the 1994, the government will GIVE ex-reservists assault rifles. Officers carry pistols rather than rifles and are given their pistols the end of their service.

When the government adopts a new infantry rifle, it sells the old ones to the public.

Reservists are encouraged to buy MILITARY ammunition
(7.5 and 5.6mm-5.56 mm in other countries-for rifles and 9 and 7.65 mm Luger for pistols)
which is sold AT COST by the government, for target practice .
Non-military ammunition for long-gun hunting and .22 Long Rifle (LR) ammo are not subsidised, but are subiect to NO sales controls.
Non-military non-hunting ammunition more powerful than .22 LR (such as .38 Spl.) is registered at the time of sale.

Swiss military ammo must be registered IF bought at a private store, BUT NEED NOT BE REGISTERED IF bought at a range.
The nation's 3,000 shooting ranges sell the overwhelming majority of ammunition.
Technically, ammunition bought at the range must be used at the range, but the rule is barely known and almost never obeyed.

The army SELLS a variety of machine guns, submachine guns, anti-tank weapons, anti-aircraft guns, howitzers and cannons.
Purchasers of these weapons require an EASILY OBTAINED cantonal license, and the weapons are registered.
In a nation of six million people, there are at least two million guns, including 600,000 FULLY AUTOMATIC assault rifles, half a million pistols, and numerous machine guns.
Virtually every home has a gun.

Besides SUBSIDIZED military surplus, the Swiss can buy other firearms easily too.
While long guns require NO special purchase procedures, handguns are sold only to those with a Waffenerwerbsschien (purchase certificate) issued by a cantonal authority.
A certificate is issued to every applicant over 18 who is not a criminal or mentally infirm.

There are NO restrictions on the carrying of long guns.
About half the cantons have strict permit procedures for carrying handguns, and the other half have NO rules at all.
There is NO discernible difference in the crime rate between the cantons as a result of the different policies.

Thanks to a lawsuit brought by the Swiss gun lobby, semi-automatic rifles require NO PURCHASE PERMIT and are NOT registered by the government.
Thus, the ONLY long guns registered by the government are FULL AUTOMATICS."

The Swiss have got it CORRECT !
Let's adopt THEIR LAWS !

Fear drives sales at Kane County gun show

‘People are just afraid they’re going to get banned,’ expert says

Cramped aisles and steady transactions marked the Kane County Sportsman’s Show Sunday with sales of ammunition and semiautomatic firearms topping the list.

Don Moran, president of the Illinois State Rifle Association, who was at the show, noted how little ammunition was left even at 11 a.m. — a few hours before the event wrapped up. The gun show ran from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles. When Moran left, he stopped by the Gander Mountain store in Geneva and found the same empty shelves.

Moran said gun sales on any type of semiautomatic firearm are up, whether it’s a handgun or a rifle, and the corresponding ammunition is selling quickly as well.

“People are just afraid that they’re going to get banned,” Moran said. “Maybe they’ve been thinking about buying one, and they’ve been putting it off. What’s going on in the state and nationally — they’re scared they won’t be able to buy it if they wait.”

I really hate to say this, but if Dems think we'll sit on our butts and let the politicians in this country get away with this.......they're right!

Americans over the last 10 years, have been more than happy to sit by and these crooked basta$&)s get away with anything and everything?

During his first term we let them get away with passing the most intrusive piece of legislation this nation has ever seen when they used back room deals in the middle of the night to force Obamacare down our throats....and sat by and watched it happen. Then we sat by as Obama trafficked thousands of guns into the hands of the cartels in an effort to create a crisis to use as leverage in his gun control fight. Then we sat by as he set fire to middle east and helped arm our enemies and at the same time allow terrorists to assume control over much of the region.

Then when provided an opportunity to do something about Obama during the last election, Republicans sat at home and let Obama cruise right back into the Whitehouse.

Even before the year was out he used more back room deals and executive fiat to put the Dream Act in play. Did I mention that we sat by and let this guy destroy our coal industry using these same tactics? The list of things these folks have pulled over the last 10-15 years is endless and too numerous to list in one post. So, what will conservatives and Republicans do as Democrats make a play for our guns? The same thing we've done in the past.....NOTHING.

We'll sit on our butts just like always and watch American Idle while the politicians in this country shred the constitution a little more. I can say this because even though I DID get out and vote I've done my fair share of sitting on my behind.

Why would they think differently? They crammed a bill down our throats that confiscated our physical beings and they heard some complaining for a bit, but when the chance came to oust our new masters, the citizenry dutifully followed.

They own our bodies and we have done nothing. Why would they think that confiscating some arbitrary piece of property would result in much of a penalty being foisted on them by many of the citizens. Sure, there will be the occasional defender of liberty, but it will be sensationalized as a right wing crazy militia member that will eventually be scorned by the media and parroted by the morons.
