BREAKING: McDaniel says they’ve already found over 1,000 illegal votes in one county alone
The Right Scoop ^ | 06-26-2014

Chris McDaniel was on Hannity tonight and said they’ve already found over 1,000 votes that were cast by people who voted both in the Democratic primary and in the runoff last Tuesday.

We’re looking into the issue of whether or not people who participated in the June 3rd Democratic primary crossed over into the Republican primary this Tuesday night, and we’ve already found more than 1,000 examples of that in one county alone.

I think it was 6,300. I could be wrong, but that’s what I remember reading.

About 6,700 ... but I don’t know how he can get the votes this way. You don’t know how they voted.

I don’t believe you can exclude any voters who are legitimate voters, no matter if they didn’t vote last time.

The big issue for cross-over voters was if they voted in the Democratic primary on 6/3, they were NOT allowed to vote in the Republican run-off on 6/24. It is illegal.

*pinging* Black Agnes as she is in MS and is a font of information on this.

McDaniel v Cochran was the only race on the ballot.

“About 6,700 ... but I don’t know how he can get the votes this way. You don’t know how they voted.”

If he finds 7,000 illegal votes then the election might be declared invalid by a judge. I’m just guessing.

"Court would have to toss out the votes entirely but there’s no way showing which candidate they voted for."

I think an inference can be made though because it wasn't the McDaniel campaign which urged black voters to vote for Cochran, and it wasn't the McDaniel campaign which sent out fliers accusing McDaniel of racism, nor was it the McDaniel campaign associated with allegations of passing out "walking around" money for blacks to vote for Cochran.

The best solution would be to set aside the election and warn the State of Mississippi to implement tighter controls.

An open primary means that you can vote in either the Republican or Democrat primary, but not both? Is it categorically and undeniably illegal to vote in both, or is it simply “not nice”?

If they voted in the Democrat primary they were not supposed to even get a ballot for the Republican run-off. On Tuesday there were sob stories running about a few people who had been "disenfranchised", but if you actually read to the last paragraph they had already voted in the Dem primary and were properly rejected from Tuesday's run-off.

I want to know how they were allowed to vote at all. Did Cochran have the poll workers primed to not look at their voting history?

About one-fifth of Cochran’s surge occurred in Hinds County. McDaniel needs to find about one-fifth of Cochrans’ 7,000 vote margin in that county, which is a bit more than 1,000.

I read somewhere that if he finds at least half of the difference between the runoff vote totals, he can petition for the results to be thrown out.

At this point, I fear the damage has been done even if McDaniel succeeds in his challenge. Anything short of Thad stepping down with a full apology and endorsements (plus money) from the Senatorial Committee and the RNC will probably result in this seat (and maybe Mitch's) going Democrat.

In reality, the GOP-e would likely just end up supporting the Dem in the general, and the bad blood will spread nationwide.

The democrats who turned out on June 24 were some of the same ones who turned out to vote on June 3 voting in the Democrat primary. They didnt just get thousands of Democrats who hadn’t voted to vote in a primary before to turn out on June 24.

This is a race against the clock. Read that the state Republican chair needs to be replaced for “wearing too many hats”, dragging his feet on the ballot checks, and the deadline is MONDAY.

I do pray they are competent, speedy and precise as they walk the land mines between now and then for McDaniel.

You don’t have to know how the illegal votes were cast. If there enough illegal votes, a judge should order a new run-off election.

Do you suppose Thad even knows he *won*, yet?

They should have done what they did in Oklahoma. We had a different ballot for Republicans and Democrats. The way you had already indicated your party when registering to vote determined which ballot you were getting.

This is the most despicable of stories from the GOPe club in quite a while.

This group, this Mississippi group needs to be thrown out.

Cochran’s got family and friends in the elections and local party leadership.

All they needed to do was look the other way and plead ignorance if caught.

If someone voted in the dem primary on june 3, they were NOT to vote in the Republican primary runoff on June 24. Any voters that did so, did so illegally.
