Students took to Twitter to express their outrage and concern after 'Trump 2016' appeared written in chalk on their campus.
Staff of the school removed the chalking because it had not been pre-approved with the school.
The University of Kansas is investigating pro-Donald Trump chalk that appeared on campus sidewalks Tuesday morning.
KU students took to Twitter this week to express their outrage over the political speech, saying they are troubled that some of their classmates are Trump supporters, and even comparing the chalk messages to the confederate flag.
The university said that they would have allowed students to chalk had they applied for approval, but allegedly had staff remove the unapproved chalking the day it was discovered.
Former student senator Shegufta Huma, however, argued that approval from the University is less important than the message itself, tweeting a photo of one chalking with the caption, Is this the post-racial paradise folks pretend exists?
The issue isn't whether a student chalked or if it was approved, Huma tweeted later. The issue is folks in the KU vicinity support a racist, sexist demagogue.
Nor were the students mollified when the KU News service pointed out that the chalking may have been done by someone from outside the school community.
@KUnews does it matter? The presence of support is on campus, and that's enough, KU student Brittany Bodenheimer tweeted in reply. Almost more concerning if it wasn't a Jayhawk.
Some didnt like the Universitys response to Huma, who was one of the first to complain about the chalk on Twitter. Rock Chalk Invisible Hawks, the group behind last semesters on-campus protests, which included the harassment of a charity fundraiser, tweeted that KU should have denounced the Trump propaganda, and instead was defensive. They also suggested in a separate tweet that KU should intervene.
Bodenheimer tweeted that KU plays down student concerns and just pretends to listen.
The University does have a clearly-stated policy requiring prior approval for chalking, saying that all other chalking is subject to immediate removal and the individuals or groups responsible may be charged the cost of cleanup.
This comes just a week after a similar incident occurred at Emory University, which caused the schools student government to allocate funds to help support students traumatized by the chalk.
The resistance strikes deep into the heart of UMD, hitting the Terrapin... well done lads, well done!
Chalking permits?
How about letting a contract to see who gets to clean the erasers?
If only I could have had the foresight to get a degree in “TDS Psycology” years ago, I could be cleaning up now helping these college kids deal with this Trump trauma.
REPEAT
Terrapin is down
Issue each ‘traumatized’ student one large sponge and one large squirt gun. Then tell them “Have at it!”
The purpose is to stop speech, threaten those who speak freely, not to have their feelings stroked. Some of the borderline mentally ill and those looking to belong will join along sincerely because that's what they do, but they are only pretending to be hurt to be part of the group, this stuff is straight out of propaganda 101, and it's all a show.
In fact, the students who set this stuff off are not wimps, but cold, calculated unfeeling propagandists seeking power and to move up within the left leadership.
They should be interpreted as insincere, infectious and corrosive scum, not wimps.
It will take a war to clean the slimy festering gene pool that are called universities. I’m looking at Hillsdale or trade school for my kids.
Man the barricades! Sing the Internationale!
I think their college files should reflect they are psychologically unfit for employment and recommend further psych screen during any job interviews.
That’s Ohio State University. I might know that chalker.
Please accept .. I mean, pass on my congratulations? Damn shame that you .. I mean, your friend, is American not Australian. Because setting a triggering device in the enemy’s safe space is worthy of consideration for the George Cross. ‘Conspicuous valour in peacetime.’ Cheers, B
@OldRowOfficial is a frat-boy type of site that is the instigator of the chalkening movement. They're having a blast; students from around the country are sending them their chalkening photos, terrorizing SJWs around the nation. Trump's man Dan Scavino has picked it up and is retweeting submissions.
@NoTrumpAtEmory is the activist group complaining about the deadly scourge of Republican sidewalk chalk. It's hard to tell if it is a parody account, it is completely over the top and unintentionally hilarious. The butthurt started here. The responses to their tweets will do your heart good.
Oh, Godfather, I went to back Kansas University to finish my degree and saw TRUMP 2016 chalked everywhere! Im so upset!
I dont know what to do. I dont know what to do.
VITO CORLEONE
You can act like a man!
(then, after slapping Johnny on the face)
Whats the matter with you? Is this how you turned out? A KU’d finocchio that ah cries like a woman?
(then imitating Johnny, as Tom giggles)
What can I do?! What can I do?!
(then)
What is that nonsense? Ridiculous.
