Will Rioters Hand the Election to Trump?
PowerLine ^ | April 29, 2016 | John Hinderaker

I think Donald Trump likely will defeat Hillary Clinton, simply because she is such a terrible candidate. But if the current trend toward anti-Trump riots and violence continues, Trump could win going away.

Last night in Orange County, Trump addressed a crowd of thousands. Anti-Trump demonstrators, some waving Mexican flags, attacked policemen and bystanders. The liberal Los Angeles Times reports:

Hundreds of demonstrators filled the street outside the Orange County amphitheater where Donald Trump held a rally Thursday night, stomping on cars, hurling rocks at motorists and forcefully [!] declaring their opposition to the Republican presidential candidate.

Traffic came to a halt as a boisterous crowd walked in the roadway, some waving American and Mexican flags. Protesters smashed a window on at least one police cruiser, punctured the tires of a police sport utility vehicle, and at one point tried to flip a police car.

One Costa Mesa police officer was struck in the head by a rock thrown by a protestor, authorities said.

The rioters “appeared to be mostly Latinos in their late teens and 20s.” Seventeen were arrested.

Riots continued today at the California GOP convention south of San Francisco. Protesters blocked traffic so that Trump was forced to exit his vehicle to get to the hotel where the convention was in progress. Riot police made at least five more arrests of violent protesters.

Protesters — some of whom wore bandanas over their faces and carried Mexican flags — blocked off the road in front of the Hyatt Regency here, forcing the GOP front-runner’s motorcade to pull over along a concrete median outside the hotel’s back entrance. Trump and his entourage got out and walked into the building. “That was not the easiest entrance I’ve ever made,” Trump said once he began speaking at the convention, adding, “it felt like I was crossing the border.”

At one point before Trump arrived, about two dozen protesters tried to rush barriers near the hotel. Police officers then rushed to the building’s doors, successfully blocking the protesters from getting in. Some of the doors’ handles were handcuffed from the inside so they couldn’t be forced open.

Several physical altercations, including shoving, could be seen between protesters and police officers, who were using batons to push them back.

After Trump arrived, protesters took down a barrier and flooded the entrance outside the hotel, where police again blocked them from entering. They chanted, “Get him out.”

We are seeing more and more of this kind of thing. Leaving downtown Minneapolis tonight, I bumped into a friend who was steaming because he was delayed by anti-Trump protesters who blocked traffic. Is there something in the Constitution about a right to close down streets and bridges, and delay others who are lawfully going about their business? I must have been absent that day.

Most people really, really don’t like violent protesters. They especially don’t like rioters who wave foreign flags. If there is anything that could guarantee Donald Trump’s election as president, this is it.

UPDATE: One more thing: I love the guy in the photo above, standing in front of a sign that says “Keep Hate Out of America” while flipping a double bird. Liberals are devoid of any sense of irony.

What are the chances that crowds like this will show up to protest this way in swing states. Trump was never going to win California and California is a long way away from most swing states. Far enough away to be forgettable.

Maybe I’m an Eeyore.

That is a really frightening thought. I couldn’t even imagine. I pray that will not happen.

Seeing rabid animal youth holding another country’s flag while attacking one of our political parties tends to turn people off.

Reminds me of when Proposition 187, a ballot initiative calling for restrictions on illegal aliens got on the ballot in 1994. As Election Day approached, protesters waving Mexican flags appeared everywhere. The Mexican flags rubbed a lot of Americans the wrong way. They stimulated my parents, hard-core liberal Democrats, to vote for the measure, which passed easily.

Unfortunately, the measure was overturned by a court and California's governor Gray "Gumby" Davis refused to appeal the ruling.

Probably not well I would imagine, but I cannot speak for all Indiana voters. I have never been particularly enthusiastic about Trump, but with all that has happened in the last week, I don't see any better alternatives.

The blatant collusion between Cruz and Kasich really was the final straw for me. Cruz choosing a running mate (and a bad one at that) when he has no mathematical possibility of winning on the first ballot just makes me think he is bat-s**t insane. If nothing else, at least I can get the satisfaction of watching the heads of liberals explode if Trump is nominated or elected. I can only hope and pray that he doesn't squander the opportunity to set the country back on the right path, though I am not sure that there is much we can do to halt the decline of civilization.

The response seems simple to me.

Trump should ask, “Is that the America your want? Where everything is done by riot and violence? Then vote for Hillary and that is the America we will have. Its terrible, terrible. Its horrible, horrible.”

I’m with you on that.

The specter of having to fight to get to the voting booth would scare away a lot of would-be voters.

The media is hot on this, trying to associate Trump with violence.

The Trump=Violence theme will be used alongside the Trump=anti-woman
theme. Women, for the most part, hate violence, they turn away from it.

Trump should, in my estimation, run against the rioters as much as he’s running against HRC. Paint them for what they are—the true face of the left in America, anti-democratc, anti free speech, pro-illegal immigration, and pro criminal. Destructive. He will also need to demonstrate how and why these riots are staged and funded. Ignoring all this will simply turn the uncommitted away from him. Use it.

People really really don't like those who are riled up by 'rent a mob' handlers and tricked out by Liberal Elite Billionaires like George Soros.

Is there ONE New York Times or LA Times reporter smart enough to ask 'WHO PAID FOR THE MATCHING BLACK SHIRTS? WHO PAID FOR THE SIGNS?

Eff the violent jerks on the left... and their liars and sycophants in the press.

Expect polling locations to be targeted by organized protesters to dissuade voters-—be prepared for that prospect. Develop a team plan for your area to neutralize voter intimidation tacticians.

Make voter disruption protests unpalatable by excluding strategic footholds from the political operatives. Arrange for suppression of threats toward the voters. Arrange for any confrontations to occur away from the polling stations as an application of defense-in-depth. Where possible, have discreet video documentation to capture protest activities.

In American history, yes, in world history, no. The left have taken over a huge percentage of world land mass and population using extreme violence and they have done it with reletively few fighters in terms of overall population.

The Left’s problem here is that we are all armed and can be extremely aggressive in self defense.
