This is the Game of Thrones S06E05 discussion thread. If you haven't seen this episode yet there may be spoilers here.
Not to mention Hordor.
It started out so Promising with Dany getting it through her thick Skull about Jorah.
I didn't like that with Hodor at all. :'(
They keep trying to top themselves with Shock Deaths. Since it worked so well on the Show with Tywin and the Red Viper, but they are trying too hard.
Shireen, Stannis, Roose Bolton, Osha, Shaggydog (off screen), now Summer and Hordor.
I don't know if GRRM needs to step in, give a gentle but firm backhand to the writer and write another episode to put things back on track or what.

I’m very sad about Hodor, and even sadder about Summer.
All good dogs die, and good giants too.
Seems like Tormund Giantsbane is now Tormund Briennesbane.
That part made me laugh.

Easy to have Brienne cut him in half as he so well deserves, but she’s playing the long game here.

GRRM planned Hodars death like that from the beginning.
She’s pregnant with Ramsey’s child too.
What I am wondering is... where will Yara and Theon take their fleet of ships and the Ironborn who are loyal to them? I don’t think they’re going back to Pike (they’d just be trapped and seiged), and going to the North is out because everyone there hates them. They don’t have friends anywhere else in Westeros that I can think of either. I’m thinking they may sail to Essos and try to find Dany before Euron can.

He held the door in his mind for decades, it seems.
“Hold the door” must have haunted his unending dreams.“Hold the door,” he died crying, “Hold the door!” he exclaimed.
Hodor/Wylis the brave. The kind. The first of his name.

Martin is the one who killed off Hodor. The TV show’s producers merely included that info in the show. The after show - the “making of the show” segment - makes that clear. Martin had always planned to bump off Hodor at that time (”Hodor” = “Hold the door” after all).
And all the wolves will die (most probably). The Stark children will stand on their own without their wolves. Maybe Ghost will survive - after all Ghost survived his master (for a while).
Don’t forget the Children of the Forest were also wiped out last night. A whole race may have been destroyed in that episode. Hodor and Summer were small potatoes compared to them.
She was rejected at a young age. Maybe she'll find happiness at last.
Bingo. Then when Dany defeats Euron she will have TWO fleets.
Hodor, oh no, hopefully he is not R.I.P.
