Vanity: Sarah Palin’s Divorce and Things to Ponder
CP

Posted on 09/09/2019 2:54:33 PM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Monitoring Governor Palin’s pre-ascent to the national political scene was one of the stories that prompted my joining FR while in college. I remember Free Republic being one of the few places online (along with Glenn Beck’s show, to his credit) to profile the rising star governor: her successes navigating Alaska’s international corporate oil scene, her carrying a Down Syndrome baby to term, and before anybody in the media or even GOP establishment knew who she was — her qualifications as a viable for runningmate for John McCain. I stayed up all night before the day of the announcement, praying she would be the one.

Fast forward a few years and I attended a special screening of a film entitled “The Undefeated” - a documentary breaking down the media and establishment elite’s (including GOP) unhinged distortion and takedown of Sarah Palin and their continued onslaught against her legacy. It was directed by none other than the little known...Steve Bannon.

The ultimate thesis of the film being that as a working class American, as a Christian, a woman and mother, as a highly charismatic and skilled politician with a formidable record of executive accomplishment — Palin embodied a volatile convergence of the very forces in our country, which pose not only a political threat to the entrenched power structures of our society, but existential and cultural.

And it was with this insight and understanding by which Steve Bannon helped guide our current President to electoral victory in 2016.

I see a lot of posts at the moment trying to rationalize away the divorce and speculate on the Palins’ personal lives...Some observations may be valid — but these discussions miss the point — which is, that her fate (and that of her family) is what awaits *anybody* who dares challenge the establishment especially on that scale. (At least in term of what the establishment intends!) - We are not even told about the extent to which the media and other facets from both political parties worked night and day to drive her out of office, stoke fear in her family and her community (like the Wasilla church burning), how frivolous lawsuits bankrupted her financially, etc...

If you watch video footage of the sprightly, shrewd, and calmly eloquent Palin in the early 2000s at things like the AK gubernatorial debates and things, one can see just how much of a spiritual and psychological toll all that’s unfolded since had had on her.

This is what the media wants for Trump and his family too...but luckily our president has the financial and other buffers by which to withstand the attacks, which will likely come even after he leaves office...And in the meantime of course they will do everything in their power to drive him out even during a second term.

In the meantime the wolves will attack the emerging leaders of the conservative movement and NOTHING is off limits: families (children!) , homes, jobs, etc...And it’s incumbent on everyone to just...be aware. And to view all this in proper context.

McCain could have won had he let Sarah be Sarah. From the day he selected her to the day he went back to DC to vote for the Big Bank Bailout, they were leading.

True.

McQueeg was the Designated Uniparty Mat Diver for the Feckless Halfrican.

She has spent a lot of time and effort campaigning for conservative Republican candidates (mostly.) She’s done TV. She’s been promoting Republicans and conservatives in various ways for over a decade.

“No n00b...the ball is in your court and if you don’t have good enough skills to find a certain topic ( GOOGLE isn’t your “friend”...try BING, DUCK DUCK GO, or some other non-lefty search engine to use !P), that’s your problem.”

Google is the single greatest database of search engine results in the world, much bigger than Bing and DuckDuckGo - Bing was even caught a few years ago stealing search results from Google.. so again, what proof?

The ball is in the court of the person who makes to claim to provide proof - argumentation 101 - burden of proof.

“I only asked your age because IF you were an adult when McQueeg was running for president, this particular info was brought to light, yet again.”

Yes I was an adult when McCain was running for president both in 2000 and 2008. There were a lot of things brought to light 20 years ago.

I remember when Cheney’s people started rumors about McCain’s adopted a black child, too. I remember when GW used 9/11 to create a new oversight apparatus called the Department of Homeland Security too.

“You are belligerent in a passive-aggressive way, not friendly, rude, insulting, rude, and still off topic.”

You make a lot of accusations that you fit the exact profile of. I made one comment and have only been defending myself this evening.

I read the entirety of it. It wasn’t worth responding to.

Oh...

So, you don't think Ryan was a quitter, announcing he was leaving Congress early in 2018, but refusing to step down as Speaker in order to tie up the leadership post to prevent an ally of Trump from leading Republicans to victory?

Why didn't Ryan stay and fight the Democrats? Why didn't Ryan let a successor take the Speakership if was quitting it?

You say that Palin was a quitter, but she was being attacked by lawfare, being sued over trivialities because she couldn't afford to defend herself. Ryan was a quitter, too, but he left when Republicans were at a peak of strength.

Why?

You can always identify the true intellectual lightweights because they are the ones that immediately try to win an argument by pointing out that they have more seniority than you do on the website, as if that has anything to do with anything.

What they are not smart enough to know intuitively is that many people change their screen names, passwords and web accounts from time to time so their latest screen name could be yesterday and they could have been here for 20 years. Like i said, they’re not too bright to begin with.

Because Ryan was trying to throw the game to his Blue Jersey teammates.

Remember the milquetoast statement he made about the Cartelfornia "ballot harvesting" thefts?

“true enough; but it is a luxury in an assembly that doesn’t value free expression due to being offended...”

I agree, I was merely stating the obvious. Good to know some people here don’t just jump at your throat because they disagree with you. I’ve been reported multiple times from what I can see, but thankfully the Admin Moderator isn’t petty.

The barrage of frivolous lawsuits was tying up all the state’s and the governor’s resources. The only way to move the state forward was to have someone else be governor. At least, that was Governor Palin’s judgment.

As with Herman Cain and others, it’s amazing how the lawsuits and complaints just went away once she resigned.

“You can always identify the true intellectual lightweights because they are the ones that immediately try to win an argument by pointing out that they have more seniority than you do on the website, as if that has anything to do with anything.”

Absolutely correct - most of these posts have included some sort of “newb” or “noob” comment.

Point well made, agreed.

“What they are not smart enough to know intuitively is that many people change their screen names, passwords and web accounts from time to time so their latest screen name could be yesterday and they could have been here for 20 years. Like i said, they’re not too bright to begin with.”

No disagreement here, cheers - as a long time lurker, I’ve come across your posts several times and have appreciated them and have been informed by them. I also like Alberta’s Child, Jim Noble, NathanBedford, LS (to a lower extent since he flipped out tonight on me), and a few others that aren’t worth mentioning but worth reading... including PJ, except for his/her freaking out tonight. Shame. I’m here to learn and discuss.

I am going to give you some more history lessons and ask you to NOT reply to it, nor ever post to me again.

First of all, GOOGLE is a lefty site and puts DEM/LEFTY stuff on top and has even gone as far as to NOT include Conservative/GOP articles, facts and such.

Secondly, you either don't know how to do a competent search, or didn't even bother to do one.

The black child stuff came from the DEMS' oppo research ( claimed it was his biological child!) and was easily refuted and was. The adopted child is Indian by birth...IIRC.

The DEMS in Congress pushed W into the Homeland Security stuff.

All I did was copy what you said about me, as it is far more accurate in describing you and your posts.

And now, this is the end of it. Please do NOT reply to this post, nor to any post I make in the future.

“I am going to give you some more history lessons and ask you to NOT reply to it, nor ever post to me again.”

As long as you reply to me or write something that is wrong or I disagree with, I will, sorry about that.

“First of all, GOOGLE is a lefty site and puts DEM/LEFTY stuff on top and has even gone as far as to NOT include Conservative/GOP articles, facts and such.””

Google didn’t return a single result - they’re in the business of making money off search results, corporate politics notwithstanding. Don’t be silly.

“Secondly, you either don’t know how to do a competent search, or didn’t even bother to do one”

I searched for the exact quote you wrote about McCain. You still haven’t provided any alternative sources since I’m such a bad searcher.

“The black child stuff came from the DEMS’ oppo research ( claimed it was his biological child!) and was easily refuted and was. The adopted child is Indian by birth...IIRC.”

Provide any proof it wasn’t - still waiting. I don’t mind being proven wrong, but I don’t like being played with games.

“The DEMS in Congress pushed W into the Homeland Security stuff.”

LIES! Rumsfeld, Cheney and Wolfowitz and the PNAC ring a bell? It was a Republican undertaking that led to the mess we are in today.

“All I did was copy what you said about me, as it is far more accurate in describing you and your posts.”

What was it that I copy/pasted?

“And now, this is the end of it. Please do NOT reply to this post, nor to any post I make in the future.”

Tough - feel free to ignore my future posts as well. I don’t like liars.

No, I think Palin was a quitter too and your post was unrelated to Palin. Whataboutism isn’t an argument. I thought you were a master educator, given your pompous reply earlier.

“Why didn’t Ryan stay and fight the Democrats? Why didn’t Ryan let a successor take the Speakership if was quitting it?”

Who cares?

“You say that Palin was a quitter, but she was being attacked by lawfare, being sued over trivialities because she couldn’t afford to defend herself. Ryan was a quitter, too, but he left when Republicans were at a peak of strength.”

If she was innocent, why worry about lawsuits?

“Why?”

You tell me.

I believe the Palins deserve...have EARNED...a lot better treatment than they are receiving from some Freepers. It reflects much more poorly on them than the Palins.
