Does anyone know if you can cook a ham in a crockpot?

I have never cooked ham in a crock pot, but I am sure you can if you have one large enough.

Thanks! It's a small ham, a butt portion, and it's a nice size crockpot.

Not a problem although it won't get that glaze.
You could certainly cook it like that then stuff it
in the oven with some brown sugar at the last.

I'm trying "drunken Turkey" this year , got a young
turkey breast and a large can of Foster's Lager, pop
the top, but the breast over it, place in a aluminum
pan on the grill cover with foil and cook, remove foil
for last 30 minutes and baste with juice.

Will let you know how it turns out.

And Remember......ALWAYS REMOVE THE GIBLETS FIRST.
my sister didn't pay much attention growing up, so
the first one she did on her own, well you know the story.

I would suspect you can but don`t know what it will be like.
It just seems that ham maybe should be cooked with dry heat as it is somewhat porous and moist to start with.

I'd put it in the pot with a bottle of white wine
and some sweet potatos/onions.
Don't over cook, you don't want ham stew.

Hah, even have some Boddington's Pub Ale to wash it down with. It comes with a charger right in the can so it comes
out like draft, thick and dark....mmmmmm.

You can cook in it a crock pot. But take it out and put it in a very hot oven for a few minutes to glaze it. Try cooking it with a half pint of fig preserves in the crock pot with the ham. Then pour another half pint of fig preserves over it before glazing it in the oven.

I do like the glaze. I will be willing to glaze it at the last. :-)

Hope the turkey turns out well.
