Prayer Thread for the Election
Me | 11/2/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/02/2006 9:13:31 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a poor people. A ruler who lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor; but he who hates unjust gain will prolong his days. Proverbs 28: 15, 16

With the election coming, I ask those of you who wish to to join me in prayer for the election.

Psalm 138

I give thee thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart;
I bow down toward thy holy temple
and give thanks to thy name
for thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness;
for thou hast exalted above everything thy name and thy word.

On the day I called,
thou didst answer me,
my strength of soul thou didst increase.

All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD,
for they have heard the words of thy mouth;
and they shall sing of the ways of the LORD,
for great is the glory of the LORD.

For though the LORD is high,
he regards the lowly;
but the haughty he knows from afar.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
thou dost preserve my life;
thou dost stretch out thy hand against the wrath of my enemies,
and thy right hand delivers me.

The LORD will fulfil his purpose for me;
thy steadfast love, O LORD, endures for ever.
Do not forsake the work of thy hands.

Saying a prayer that all pro-life candidates are rewarded with a(nother) term in office, and that the tactics of intimidation, distortion, fear, anti-Americanism and racism are soundly defeated.

Prayer Warriors,
I believe God is calling us to PRAISE HIM and WORSHIP HIM this day.... As I have been meditating and praying with all of you and your petitions to Our Lord, this song has been flowing through my heart... let's all " sing" to the Lord with Praise and Expectation....
Polly

As we gather may Your Spirit work within us

As we gather may we glorify Your name

Knowing well that as our hearts begin to worship

We'll be blessed because we came

We'll be blessed because we came

Chorus:

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,

His mercies never come to an end,

They are new every morning, new every morning

Great is Thy faithfulness (Oh Lord)

Great is Thy faithfulness

Verse 2:

You have called us by Your Spirit into worship

In this temple You have set our hearts aflame

As we lay our hearts upon Your holy altar

We'll be blessed in Jesus' name

Verse 3:

Let us cleanse our hearts as we begin to worship

Let us fill our hearts with love for You and sing

Open up our eyes so we may come to know You

And unto us the Spirit bring

Lamentations 3:22-24

22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Lord, please help us to stop those who would destroy good and replace good with their dark side evil.

Father: We ask for Godly government upon our land today-give wisdom to your people and let the voice of the righteous be heard in the land! May the hills of resistance melt like was before the presence of Almighty God and every evil doer flee! May You see that our nation will be exalted because we have sought You and Your face today! We need You this day. May You know how desparate we are for good government and for a move of God upon America.

I will be praying all day for our country, our brave troops in harms way and for our President. May the Lord bless us and keep us safe from harm and that lots of well-informed people get out to vote today and the less well-informed vote tomorrow.

Please also pray for New Jersey. We need it in many ways.

Dear Lord, may the righteous prevail, in this, the country with the greatest blessings which You have bestowed. May our president continue to be your faithful servant and may we as a country always be thankful.

Dear Lord,

Teach this nation this day to discern the true good, even when it looks plain and dull and old fashioned from the untrue glitter the enemy tries to pass off as good, shiney, and popular and exciting. May all today who vote realize, if just for a flash what is good and what is not, and may they vote accordingly.

I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

>>>My fear is that they trying to see if they could make it without the religious conservatives so they wouldn't be beholden to them.<<<

I thought about this on my return from voting, zxins ... perhaps it was not to stir up, at this time, any great controversy between Republicans opposed to abortion, and Republicans who are pro-choice. The idea now is to retain Republican majorities and then present conservative judicial nominees.

Just a thought. And by the way, I was #171 before 10 a.m.in voting on the new machine, which I found to be easy and smooth and relatively private. Turnout is heavy. On the return home, I thanked the Lord for the peace that passes all understanding ... to God be the Glory ... great things He has done, and continues to do.

Dear Lord, I am praying to you to see that todays mid-term elections shall produce nothing but a Victory for the United States of America and all mankind everywhere. See that those elected are the right choice for this age. Protect, direct, sustain and guide them now in all they shall say or do during their tenures.

See that they direct, defend, honor, love and obey the Constitution of the United States of America, the Spirit of the Magna Charta, and every holy instrument of freedom, law and divine justice, showing forth a spirit of enlightenmant to all people.

May everyone elected to office be the best choice possible for moving America into her divine destiny as a harbitor of freedom and liberty for all peoples.

Seal and protect the election in an all-engulfing wave of Light from the heart of our Lord and every Saint in heaven.
See that order and right triumph victoriously and that every attempt for deceit and fraud comes to naught. We thank you Lord and accept it done according to Gods' Holy Will, Amen.
