Ex-Teacher Gets Probation in Field-Trip Sex Case Janet Klatt
Posted: Feb. 8 3:37 p.m. Updated: Feb. 8 6:51 p.m. Raleigh — A former Concord teacher entered a plea Thursday in connection with charges that she had sex with a 16-year-old student while on an overnight field trip in Raleigh last April.
Janet Klatt, 44, of Charlotte, was charged with sexual activity between a school personnel member and a student, a felony offense. She entered an Alford plea and was given 30 months' probation and was ordered to have no contact with the male student and to pay a $500 fine and court costs.
An Alford plea is one in which a defendant does not admit guilt, but admits that sufficient evidence exists with which the prosecution could likely convince a judge or jury to find the defendant guilty.
Both Klatt and her attorney declined to comment Thursday afternoon.
Investigators said Klatt, who taught at a private school in Concord called The Cannon School, was discovered having sex with the student at the Clarion Hotel on Hillsborough Street during the overnight trip on April 28-29.

I know we shouldn't laugh and joke about this, but shouldn't someone set up a site where every one of these female teachers who are accused of having sex with boys can have their pictures all posted, with the sentence posted beneath them?
It would just be so funny, you could even have votes for determining "guilt", and maybe even a 2nd-chance for "pardons".
that's a great idea. Perhaps the site could even post the phone numbers of the innocent ones.
I am going to vote guilty, but I need to know exactly what kind of field trip it was.
I'm wondering though if we need to see pictures of the "victims" to really know if the women are guilty or not. After all, for some "victims" this may be the best they could hope for....

My mother-in-law used to work at that school. It's now named after the Cannon textiles family (and Rep. Robin Hayes's family). Formerly the Cabarrus Academy.
Sick teacher -- she was also caught with a student in a Food Lion parking lot not far from the school.
She's 44, so, at worst, it's "Guilty with an explanation".
However, since I'm 60 myself, "Not guilty".
I'm sorry, but the evidence is too compelling. Guilty.
