Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Well, I’ve browsed around and gotten a little more comfortable with how it works. I’ve clicked on all my co-worker’s pages and they aren’t all “friends” with each other or anything, so it doesn’t appear I’m under any expectation that I should ‘befriend’ them, unless of course they ask me. But it doesn’t seem to be something they’re all doing.
So I dunno... I’ll probably browse around a bit more tonight and settle in.
Your hubbit needs a profile picture. Should I suggest one?
Heh... I don’t think you better ;~)
I am not on facebook, although I have a myspace page. If there are any of you on both, what is the difference in the relative experience on the two sites.
I was offline from Saturday pm to this am, apparently a very busy weekend on FR, what with the Kossack attacks and all.
Heh...you’re evil. Funny, but evil.
It’s definitely not a perfect “social network”. Just as one example, I have days when I’d really like to rant about certain things at work...but I can’t. Too many of the wrong sort of witnesses....
*Sigh*
Whole friggin’ league plays like a bunch of Cubz.
Or Indians. The NL will come back though.
I was born a few blocks from Yankee Stadium and have always been a Yankees fan, but have not followed baseball or most sports for a long time, didn’t even know about the AL’s long winning streak in the All Star game.
lololololz
Welcome to Facebook everyone!
(It’s all a Borg plot to assimilate’tcha)
They’re showing too much 0bama....switching to MLB.com. They’re about 3 batters behind but it’ll get me through the Fox commercial breaks.
I’ve been a fan for too long to give up now...
I didn’t love it, either. But I just tuned him out like he wasn’t even there.
MLB.com had the FOX audio going so I had double-mute going on. You can choose your camera angle and watch up to four views at a time. I get to watch the pitchers warm up between innings.
MLB.com is good. Zero, not so good.
Well ix-nay the mosaic view, they aren’t synched. A guy will be up in one frame and being thrown out in another at the same time.
Heh. On MLB.com there’s a green screen behind the batter instead of a Budweiser sign.
You're very, very bad! I wanna be just like you when I grow up!
<cracking up!>
That's why WE'RE here! ;o)
I've turned down invites to FB because I know HR now cruises those sites to sniff up things about employees and applicants. Aside from being good with computers, some of my other interests would probably land me on some watch list, if I'm not there already. I'm assuming that The One probably has a couple of billion-dollar departments doing data mining right now. Why? Because he can.
I also turned down a couple of invites from LinkedIn. That seems to be a high-end FB, where power brokers go to polish their resumes. It's for people who believe they're still entitled to upward mobility.
I also found out from a friend on LinkedIn that the trolls there are the worst she's ever seen since the days of AOL and Compuserve being the only online games in town.
