Why Is Free Republic Allowing Liberal Trolls To Stay?
May 12 2009 | jveritas

Posted on 05/12/2009 12:07:37 PM PDT by jveritas

There are some really annoying liberal trolls on Free Republic who have survived for months and years without being banned. Why is Free Republic allowing them to stay? We have enough liberalism and left wing lunacy on 90% of the media and we do not need this crap on this forum.

It is not difficult to spot these trolls. A quick review of their posting history will prove without any shadow of doubt that they are liberal trolls. Some of them try to mask it but they cannot fool the vast majority of us.

There are plenty of left wing forums which will welcome them that if they are not already registered and active members there.

It is time to get rid of them.

Hit the abuse bottom on them and hit it often.

We have to remember that FR is a PRIVATE SITE. It is not a Public site, and it is not an “open” site. We are ALL here as GUESTS of Jim Robinson, frankly. It’s HIS house...

Your suggesting that it’s fascist or communist to shut down the “opposition” on this site, doesn’t really acknowledge the fact that this is not a government entity, and is honestly “private property”.

Actually, all this thread is doing is trying to say that there seem to be a lot of “astro-turfers” here on the site who really are promoting Obama and his policies - especially within the last 4-5 months. There is no reason they should be allowed to “stay” at a site that is meant as a place for CONSERVATIVES (of many stripes - liberatarian, Republican, Libertarian, Idependents, aPolitical-types, disenfranchised Conservatives, etc... — all who agree with the stated “vision” set forth on the main page of this forum.

-He wants more stockholder say over ceo compensation instead of cronyism board approved pay plans. One idea he has is when ceo's leave the company they cannot take all their golden parachute money with them at one time. It would be put in escrow and paid out over a period of years. There has been more than one ceo who made a bad short term decision, cashed out and then left other to pay for the mess.

The first two items you listed are fine, but how could you possibly support this one? If private companies want to squander their money, that's their business. That you would even remotely support nationalization of these businesses (and let's make no mistake, when government is dictating to companies how they can run their own businesses, that business has been nationalized) shows how far your priorities are out of whack. Allowing our government to have such power can only lead in one direction - tyranny.

Yes, I am well aware that I am despised by trolls.

If I had a dime for every group that hates me on here, I'd be able to retire, and buy FR off of JimRob. These would include police bootlicks, liberaltarians, Catholics, Mormons, Calvinists, amillenialists, preterists, Mittbots, Rudybots, Duncanistas, Bush-lovers, third party supporters, evolutionists, pro-abortion types, RINOs, people who spend all their time whining about RINOs, drug warriors, marijuana legalisers, people who don't like British spelling, Northerners who think the Civil War was only about slavery, Southern revisionists of the Civil War, people who think Biblical standards are "legalism", Europhiles, Ron Paulians, "Fair" Traders, "Fair" Taxers, atheists....

“No one is being dragged to the computer and forced at gun point to debate anything here (though there are rumors some of them are paid to).”

Just wanted to point out that especially during the “Amnesty” debate there WERE people paid by the White House to argue their points. Bush even admitted to it...

OMG, wagglebee calls in all his buddies. You and your buddies are so predictable. The legalism, the cowardice, distortion, and the imperious attitude from you guys makes you guys appear much closer to the pharisees than to Christ-like attitudes.

What's ironic is that by your standards, Christ was a Pharisee.

SELF-confirmation doesn’t count, sorry. You need an Admin Mod or JimRob hisself to confirm it.

Fastest way to be called a troll:

1. Post a thread on your first day.

2. Post a thread on your first day and don't reply.

3. Go to a thread where there is a group hug in progress and criticize a comment by a hugee. (see American Idol).

4. Go to any thread where a poster has a pre-set list of links and posts them number two or three whenever their favorite subject comes up. Disagree with anything they post. (ex: homosexualist and religious threads.)

5. Say anything positive about a homosexual or a moslem.

6. Disagree with a poster who runs a posse list. You'll get gang-trolled for a day or so.

7. Come back under a new name and you'll be part of the troll experience until they discover you were here before the stain on the dress. Then you move to retread status.

8. Make a list trying to show you know what's really going on.

---Your American Idol troll because I called it like it was against the proletariat. Called a woman, called gay, reported to the mods for a reason still unknown. And still voting for the gay guy who has the best singing skills.

You keep saying having only conservatives on a conservative site - that we would all agree.

Well, fella, when everybody starts out with the same beliefs and the same way of thinking and the same positions, how much disagreement can there be? The disagreements would just be in the degree of intensity by which different people feel about the issues, but in general, the positions would be virtually the same. The point is that a debate amongst like-thinkers is not much of a debate. You might as well look in a mirror, make a point or a statement, and then point at yourself in that mirror and say: "I agree with you wholeheartedly; you rock!".

What an asinine comment.

You remind me of a typical liberal in a discussion who, when on the verge of losing the argument, will either try to shout down the opposition or resort to insults.

What conservatives disagree on - is of LESS IMPORTANCE - than what we disagree on w/trolls.

All discussions, hopefully, present different points or arguments and different points of views. When conservatives have disagreements, those disagreements won't be much to talk about shortly after the discussion is over. When discussions occur between or amongst widely different points of view, then it's quite possible that the disagreements will be something that will be remembered for a long time. And, it's also quite possible that, during the debate or argument, that one or both parties in the discussion will learn something form the other party. Like-minded people often don't present anything that the other party doesn't already know.

As a former liberal who is now a conservative, I can tell you that I know what I'm talking about a whole lot better than you.

There isn't a conservative that doesn't know who they are dealing w/by their answers. A troll doesn't 'get it'and, therefore, really thinks 'no one knows'

It's quite apparent that your way of thinking has nothing to do with being a conservative. You sound very closed-minded and your attitude is like those who want "their way or the highway". You sound like you have a lot of life-learning to do. Hopefully, it's not too late to start for you.

It's obvious this is way over your head.

You remind me of a typical liberal in a discussion who, when on the verge of losing the argument, will either try to shout down the opposition or resort to insults.

As a matter of fact, why don't you quit while you're behind or, you'll get further behind.

Look at it this way...

The word "conservative" has nothing to do with a simple or a singular way of thinking. It has nothing to do with "conserving" a way of thinking or a way of living or a way of doing things. It's got something to do with doing what's best for the country and the people in it. If you're a conservative, and I'm a conservative, then we're both on the same side. But, it doesn't mean that we need to shut out different points of view or different ways of thinking or different ways of doing things. We don't, however, have to stand by and hope for the best when we know that things may be going wrong or the wrong people are in command.

Okay, let me back away from sweeping statements for a minute and try to get back on topic. Let’s assume that the moderators had the time and resources to enforce these more restrictive definitions and got rid of all the trolls. How would you then direct Freepers into more constructive activites? Do you have some mechanism for helping organize these Freepers? What would you do to get the Freepers who are keyboard warriors leave their houses and participate in some other way?

One of the stated goals of this site is political activism. However, we lose focus easily when distracted by these ridiculous discussions where we are debating what should be core conservative principles with someone who is either trollish, or is simply a liberal who isn't self-aware enough to realize that. Rather than wasting time debating these people, we could have whole threads discussing plans of action.

I have personally witnessed numerous times when a person or persons will post on a thread "Hey - let's do this or that to combat this left-wing event" only to be repeatedly poo-pooed by a number of posters who counsel that we should all just sit on our fat rear ends and chill out, that doing something will make us look mean, or silly, or stupid etc. I can't imagine how many useful sign-ups that attribute of FR has cost us versus the number of lazy, apathetic or liberal posters that we have now in their place.

Let this be a forum where hardcore conservatives gather to hone talking points (or, more likely, counter talking points), discuss plans of action, and disseminate information. There will be enough disagreement among the conservative on those points alone to keep everyone busy. Let the liberals and RINOs be banned so that they don't waste our time. The time for FR as entertainment has passed. We should be in war mode now.

I don't disagree with any of that. What I disagree with is the part where some people believe that, just because some people have some issues on which they differ from "conservatives" that they should be either shouted down or banned. Thus, even though RINOs have some issues on which they are "democrat-like", they still consider themselves "republicans". I have no disagreement with this being a conservative site. I just hope that some people can be more open-minded.

What's ironic is that by your standards, Christ was a Pharisee.

I understand what you are trying to do troll. If you want to pretend Christ was about those things, go ahead. People like you have been around for a long time. The self-professed Christians Mahatma Ghandi was refering to when he said "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Unfortunately Ghandi was subjected to people who view Christianity the way you do, not those truly seeking to be Christ-like in action and attitudes.

The attitudes and behaviors associated with Christ are love, humility, compassion, patience, kindness, selflessness, being a good servant-leader. Wagglebee has exhibited none of these on this forum. In fact, as soon as he gets a post that may challenge him the first thing he does is ping his list. If Wagglebee is the one you have chosen to follow at his beck and call, look a little higher source for guidance.
