Help! Point Me to Earlier Version of Adobe Flash Player
Self | September 1, 2012 | PJ-Comix

Over an hour ago I downloaded the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. It STINKS! Now I can't watch embedded videos on Firefox although I can still watch YouTube. Soooo... I would like to uninstall that Flash Player and download a RELIABLE older version. Can anybody provide me the link to such an Adobe Flash Player RELIABLE version?

Thanx in advance.

I had to restore my PC awhile back so my restore point history isn’t all that extended. So, I used Adobe’s flash removal tool and followed the steps. Before that, I downloaded version 10.1 (for non-IE browsers) that dates back to 2010. I’ve installed it and it works fine (just tested through another thread that had a YouTube video link. A warning comes up that some add-ons are out of date, but that’s no big deal.

I found something that may shed light on your problem......

All of these problems come from the fact that Vista and Windows 7 are 64 bit operating systems. Internet Explorer is also 64 bit but Firefox is unfortunately not 64 bit compatible and therefore can only use 32 bit plug-ins.

When upgrading Flash, it will look at your system and select the 64 bit version. This says it contains a 32 bit version as well, but this does not seem to work on version 11x64_mssa_aih. It will work fine on all programs except firefox.
To make sure you have a working version on Firefox you will need to search the Flash support site for 11x32_mssa_aih which is the 32 bit upgrade package.
Until Flash fixes their version 11 package, or Firefox supports 64 bit plug-ins, you will need to run both a 32 bit and a 64 bit Flash player.

I just got a pop up from ADOBE wanting me to upgrade. I hit the button, and the window that then popped up told me they wanted to scan my computer with the Mcafee anti-virus program before.

Since I use Kaspersky I figured there would be a conflict so I closed the window.

I also use Firefox.

You are so right that you DO NOT want to ever let McAfee have anything to do with your PC.

However, there usually is a place to uncheck the McAfee option. If there is not an opt-out option, I would certainly complain to Adobe. We have been begging Adobe to stop trying to trick people into taking McAfee when downloading an Adobe update. If they are now not even at least offering an opt-out, that is really over-the-top scamming.

My firefox is jumpy and lags after downloading it. I can’t watch youtube even because it’s so jumpy.

Adobe Flash is written by monkeys who work for Chris Matthews. They get paid in leg tingles.

Operating system and browser don’t matter. Flash universally sucks everywhere.

Just restore Windows to a point before you installed the new version of Flash.

It's the easiest, most reliable way to do it.

I restored my computer to 8/26

Does that mean you can watch the convention all over again?
