I think the problem with "Edge of Tomorrow" was the title of the movie.

1. Tom Cruise 2. George Clooney 3. Russell Crowe 4. Colin Farrell 5. Adam Sandler 6. Johnny Depp 7. Vince Vaughn 8. Matt Damon

Interesting. They’re all a bit long in the tooth to be leading men these days.

No one can relate to cruise. Straight people think of him as uncomfortably gay, gay people think of him as closeted beyond reason, and the world thinks of him as a terrible actor. He looks like a freakily old 24 year old, and the costumes and shooting aren’t gift wrapping his talents.

I think the problem with "Edge of Tomorrow" was the title of the movie.

Something like "Vanilla Sky" would have had a lot more specificity.

George Clooney is a one trick pony. Great looking, has to be seen as the cool guy in all his movies (including his permanent movie, the tabloids). It’s gets old. So will he.

They are old.

Nothing lasts forever and there are several very good actors, younger of course, who are taking over.

Johnny Depp ruined himself with the Pirates movies. Every single role since has Jack Sparrow emerging no matter what.

Adam Sandler is just not funny. He is either some crazed character or a homely Everyman who can sometimes manage to make one small scene “touching.”

His babytalk voice could be used instead of water boarding.

The highlight of his career for me was the Chanukah Song.

I went to see Edge yesterday. I thought it was pretty decent.

I am not a fan of Sci-Fi or Tom Cruise per se, but enjoyed the flick.

Every Johnny Depp movie:

1. Johnny is in heavy costume and makeup

2. Johnny will be quirky

3. Johnny will be cool and the women will want him

Yawn.

Saw Edge of Tomorrow and it was a good movie.

Say what you will about Cruise's personal life but he's a professional who knows how to make good movies - same with Mel Gibson. He's also pretty apolitical - something I really appreciate from movie stars, especially when compared to the supersaturated left-wing views of almost the entire movie industry.

Not surprising when they appear in the majority of movies that are made. Over exposure in my opinion. And let’s face it, the stars today, both male and female, can’t hold a candle to the stars of days gone by.

Perhaps I am stating the obvious; but, all of these guys are getting, or have gotten, older. No movie star maintains their hold at the box office once they get past a certain age. New guys usually move in; however, since the new guys seem to be metrosexuals, I’m not sure we actually have much future in the way of “masculine” movie stars.

I’m guessing that in today’s homo Hollywood, males tend to get discarded as they lose their boyish looks.

The top female actresses the age of these guys are still doing quite well.

Actually it’s none. As much as Hollywood likes to push the stars that’s not why people see movies. Plot/ topic is the #1 driver to get people into a movie. Stars rise and fall basically on how well they’re matching the whims of the masses in the scripts they say yes to. The biggest source of “fall” is that eventually the stars get tired of making the same movie over and over, so they try something different, but the people actually do want to watch the same movie over and over, so they don’t go to the different movies.
