By Yuan Ren 01 Jul 2014 Ever heard of yellow fever? No, not the disease you can pick up when travelling to certain countries. I'm talking about when Caucasian men develop an acute sexual preference for East Asian women – even becoming a fetish, for some.
Naturally, there are dating websites aplenty dedicated to 'serving' those men who have yellow fever, where the average East Asian women is increasingly being perceived as a desirable partner.
In fact, the most recent figures from 2.4 million users of Facebook dating apps showed a clear skew in preference for women of East Asian descent by men of all racial groups, except, ironically, Asian men.
As a Chinese, single woman in the UK - where I have rarely come across racism – my East Asian friends and I have encountered a fair share of men with telltale signs of yellow fever. But it's subtle, and of course, few would admit to surfing online dating sites for Chinese women, yet when the only girls they date are Chinese, then the probabilities are in their favor.
Having said that, I'm surprised at what British men, both young and old, generally get away with when talking about East Asian women (Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc.) as well as South East Asian women (Vietnam, Thailand etc.)

The power of femininity is something that only few Christian women understand. I am Catholic and know powerfull women that are simply ALL WOMEN. All giving, powerfull ladies, who enjoy cooking, serving, entertaining, and enjoying time with family they love. That is powerfull.
Many Chinese and Russian women know how to pretend that role. Good for them. Bottom line, every person is a product of the family they came from.
Like my abuelita told me, “anybody can pretend to be anything. To know a j person is to know their family, and how they respect God, and treat each other. A person who loves and respects their God, will be good where it matters.”
Korean actor/singer RAIN is in the next Bruce Willis movie apparently. Willis is a mobster and RAIN is his right-hand man or something.
I used to work with a Filipino who was a nice guy. His wife was also Filipino. He was a trainee and I was assigned as his coach.
One day he was telling me that his Son was getting into trouble and he wanted to send him to the Philippines to live with his Uncle way out in the provinces for a year or so. That way he would not be influenced by some of the stuff going on in Norfolk.
Unfortunately his wife would not agree. I asked him why he did not act on his own, after all aren’t men the boss in the Philippines?
He told me that she became Americanized really quickly.
