Is FreeRepublic Pro Harry Reid?
Vanity | 9/17/2014 | Vanity

Posted on 09/17/2014 4:36:52 PM PDT by Kansas58

A very disturbing number of Freepers are openly advocating, on Free Republic threads, for the defeat of Senator Pat Roberts and other good Conservative Republicans. Greg Orman, in Kansas, is a pro abortion, anti gun, tax and spend Liberal Democrat who has given tens of thousands of dollars to Obama and Pelosi and the Democrat Party and Harry Reid. I am called an "idiot" for supporting Roberts. However, I think that those on Free Republic who support Harry Reid and Greg Orman should be ZOTTED, kicked off the site. I have had enough of there hate filled, vindictive, misguided trash.

“Does Jesus accept abortion? No. What does that have to do with my question?”

Everything.
Take a look at your tagline.
Take a look at Romans 12:2.
Then tell me why anyone should support RINOs at all?

You just did it again. No one said the word “must” in regards to voting for RINOs. Do you not understand the words that I’m writing?

What was actually said: “Not voting for a RINO in a general election helps elect Democrats.”

What you claim they said: “You personally (Darksheare) MUST vote for the RINO or you support the Democrat.”

#1 you completely removed the qualifier...”general election.”

#2 you claim they directed you personally to vote for RINOs, i.e. you “must” vote for the RINO.

Also, go back and read the post that started it all. It started as a discussion about Pat Roberts and posters who supported Orman, a stealth Democrat. In my posts, I even pointed out that in some cases it might be better to refuse to vote for a RINO, like when the RINO is in a position to do more damage than a newbie Democrat.

How can you possibly claim this thread is about us telling you you “must” be a literal slave to the GOPe? Never happened!

Post 420 “ If that means I gotta elect a RINO incumbent, I’m going to do it with no regrets. We’re past the time—the primaries—to put better conservatives in these seats. Now I’m gonna vote for the best of the two remaining options, and it sure isn’t going to be a vote for a Democrat!”

So you will vote for a proabort, and the RINOs can count on you no matter what.

“Let the lurkers decide for themselves what is best: a Democrat-controlled senate or a Republican one. That’s really the only two choices at this point, because the senate is going to be filled regardless.”

post 425, “only two choices”.
Vote for the liberal RINO, or the democrat is what you are implying there.

“Don’t forget. Senators are there for six very long years. Pick the course that best serves your cause or at least does the least amount of damage.”

Post 450: Choose the lesser evil, because it’s not that evil!
Again, your tagline: (Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.)
And again, Romans 12:2 “Be not conformed to this world”

Tell me, how does your tagline and your outward proclamation of scripture, and what scripture says in Romans square with your “Choose the .01% cyanide arsenic chaser” position?

A Christian can never vote for a non-Christian? Is that what you’re saying? If so, just say it. I can respect that. At least it’s a logically consistent view.

You’ve said compromise with evil is flat out wrong. OK. We know even one tiny sin is enough to condemn a man, and all unrepentant sinners are evildoers. That means you can’t vote for anyone who isn’t a repentant Christian.

You see, I’m not double minded about these things. I’m absolutely opposed to abortion. I will always vote to prevent as many abortions as I can. In my mind, I’m not compromising one bit. I’m saving babies and trying to save more. Show me how I can get a complete ban, and I’ll vote for that, too. In other words, 100% opposed to abortion.

“So you will vote for a proabort, and the RINOs can count on you no matter what.”

Actually, that mischaracterizes what I wrote. I said there were some rare cases where I’d vote against the RINO (in the general election only—I vote most conservative in primaries), like where they might do more damage than a newbie Democrat. Mitch McConnell comes to mind.

Romans 12:2. I don’t accept the premise that voting (in the general election) for someone who isn’t 100% pure on abortion is conforming to this world. I prefer to vote for true Christians, but I vote for the best candidates I can. I’m trying to do the best I can with what’s possible at a given time. How is that being conformed to the world?

If you have ever voted for someone who is a sinner, an evildoer per the Bible, then you have conformed to the world by your own words.

No, it doesn’t.
Your position is that we MUST vote for the R or else the D gets in.
The truth is, if the R is a RINO, you are advocating voting for them anyway.
That is the truth.
Don’t like it, well tough.

Here’s what would work: Vote for the Conservative.
If he doesn’t win, DON’T SUPPORT THE RINO.
Once the GOP figures out that we are on to their “suddenly go conservative until after the election is over” BS, they’ll start running people who we will vote for.
It is utter BS to vote for the R when you know that he doesn’t care about the issues YOU do.

"I see zero sympathy or tolerance on this thread for anyone faced with your election choices. That’s a real shame. Frankly, I think it drives people away from both this board and conservative groups. Political power comes from votes, and votes come from building coalitions. Some prefer to go scorched earth it seems."

Citizen, look again at what the retread wrote. He said every candidate was a hard-left disgusting liberal. Is it really so difficult for you to understand why a conservative would not vote for a hard-left liberal? Of any stripe or party affiliation?

Doing so puts the political power you speak of in the hands of such people. I won't be a party to it any longer. No pro-abortion, pro-queer, pro-amnesty Republican will ever get my support.

Too many men fought and died to win that vote for me, which should be a sacred thing, not something to throw away on Republican statists just so "the party" can win.

I said "It’s either Jesus or the world and compromise. Your choice." You can try and muddy that if you like but it is clear.

The choice is to either compromise your principles or stand by them when voting. You urge compromise. The choice is yours.

I will never again vote for a liberal sporting an "R" after their name. We have done that and lost. It doesn't work and I will not do it again.

You have GOT to be kidding? Kansas58 was a woman? Yikes! That kind of explains everything.

I thought Kansas was a male narcissist for whom his only two gods were Politics and his own resume, and who suffered manic bouts of clinically proportioned grandiosity reflected in his sophomoric political headbanging, for perpetuating the status quo of the RINOS Forever cult.

I always thought the guys were pretty neutral with Kansas when engaged in debate, and I wondered why I wanted to crack his jaw. Something was there that set me off. A woman gladiator, that was it. Ick.

Thankfully, Robinson, you have a fuse too.

Funny how those simple words you always use, “Well, bye”, are actually the biggest gun to fire against the hot air and puffery incessantly displayed by this RINO Forever pusher.

Post #420. You lie. You claim the RINOs can count on me no matter what, but I specifically wrote, “In some very small number of cases, that might mean sacrificing a Republican in Name Only (RINO) who does serious damage (more than the Democrat) to the conservative cause.” I just wrote it might be better to eliminate a RINO. That is not “NO MATTER WHAT.”

Post #425. You lie. “Only two choices in the general election” is what I actually wrote. You completely dropped the part about “general election” and voting against RINOs in primaries. My statement, “pick the course that best serves your cause” when read in light of post #420 implies that course can even mean voting against the RINO if the RINO is worse than the Democrat or likely to harm the conservative cause.

Post #450. You lie. The words, “Choose the lesser evil, because it’s not that evil!” were never implied or written by me (until just now). I never, ever stated that RINOs aren’t that evil. Some clearly are.

This is getting tiring. You keep misrepresenting what I post and I keep trying to defend myself. It’s hopeless. You are either intentionally misrepresenting what I write or you’re blinded to it. Restating what I actually posted over and over is getting us nowhere. FReegards.

Darksheare: “Once the GOP figures out that we are on to their “suddenly go conservative until after the election is over” BS, they’ll start running people who we will vote for.”

Actually, I think that’s unproven and unlikely. The GOP isn’t a monolithic entity. Voters in the primaries decide who gets to represent the GOP, and they keep nominating RINOs. So you aren’t talking about one entity, the GOP, that has to change its mind. You’re talking about millions of voters who disagree with you and I and want to nominate milquetoasts. We gave them alternatives, and they voted against them. That doesn’t mean we should give up, but I don’t think the moderates are going to suddenly give in. We’ve got to beat them in the primaries.

AMEN, Catherine. These clowns pushing "Any RINO is better than a Democrat" need to answer: WHEN is that approach going to start working? Because for the past 25 years at least, it has been failing miserably, and some of us have finally figured it out.

You didn’t answer my question. Jesus does not tolerate sin. Anyone who sins and doesn’t repent is an evildoer. They are, by definition, anti-Jesus. Do you agree?

If not, please answer this question. Do you think it’s ever OK to vote for an unbeliever? Please don’t repeat “it’s either Jesus or the world.” We both know that’s true. Yes or no, is it OK to vote for a nonbeliever? What do you personally believe, because any compromise with evil is evil according to what you’ve posted.

Your posts are there for everyone to read.

The rest of your Post 420: However, I want to emphasize that these situations are very, very few and far between, and in no way should the majority ever be sacrificed to send a message to the RINOs and/or eliminate one bad apple.

Ah yes. Compromise. No. They are the norm. Rinos outnumber solid Americans that are NOT Socialist/Communist. That's why Obama is winning. Voters like you, that compromise principle, are giving him the weak links with no spine.

Your Post 425: You do what you think is best. I’ll do what I think is best. I only hope that very few join you. You seem to have decided the only way to win is to not play. To me, that sounds an awful lot like losing.

We’ve had this discussion many times in the past, and I’m not going to go back over it all again. Let the lurkers decide for themselves what is best: a Democrat-controlled senate or a Republican one. That’s really the only two choices at this point, because the senate is going to be filled regardless.

A Rino filled Senate IS a Dem filled Senate. Again, you'll compromise simply because the liberal has an "R" after their name. And the left will blame Republicans for the destruction because people like you filled the Senate with Rinos instead of letting the Dems do their own dirty work. Obama wins either way and you compromise your principles again.

Your Poost 450 :I agree a pro-abort would be a tough call, but it’s a call you have to make if both candidates are pro-aborts. I’m vilified (by some FReepers) for saying this, but it’s not black and white.

There are different levels of pro-aborts. Perhaps the opponent supports government funded abortion on demand at any time for any reason. Most Democrats do. A Republican that is generally pro-abort but supports restrictions is better.

More compromise. The lesser of two evils is still evil. Your way is exactly how we got where we are. Aren't you so proud? A conservative that's willing to be played by those in power and compromise their principles is not a real conservative. They vote out of fear, not knowledge and conviction. And they have brought our country to the brink of destruction. Congratulations.
