If by miracle and we see $2.50 gas next year, you would assume it will help the economy and create more jobs. Right? And Democrats want more people unemployed. And who wont approve of such a drop in oil prices? Maybe Obama, who wants all of us to drive compact cars with 24 inches of leg room, and cars that will crumble in any collision(like those Smart Cars). We can only hope crude prices keep falling while consumers start buying bigger cars again.
Everybody likes gas to be cheaper. How will cheaper gas make more jobs?
Gas here in St Louis area is already $2.50 for regular.
I paid $2.93 for 93 octane premium the other day.
Everyone loves it.
Consumers buying bigger cars again?
What bigger cars? Gas could drop to 89 cents and those CAFE standards would still be in effect. Nobody is building larger cars. The gubbermint won’t let ‘em.
Unless you know someone who specializes in restoring Lincolns and Caddies from the 1970’s.

I should have bought a F-350 this summer. Now the prices will start rising.
It was nice to fill up my truck for $37 yesterday, versus the $50+ it has been for years on end.
More $ in MY pocket is ALWAYS a good thing for the local economy.
Lower transportation costs, cheaper products, more sales, more jobs.
I bought a U-1300L in April.
I don't care what prices for fuel do, I'm going to burn every drop of diesel I can.
And have fun doing it!
For one, people would have more disposable cash.
Two, fuel costs drive the cost of EVERYTHING up, so lower costs also drop prices in a competitive economy.
The presumption is, people will be buying more stuff with the “extra” cash they now have. Since companies run on tight inventories, more sales requires increased production. And more production requires hiring people to do the work.
Or so the theory goes.
Dang, a Unimog looks like fun.
What amount of towing capacity?
Everyone likes gas to be cheaper, except for leftists who seek control over their fellow man.
Gas prices correlate to overall transportation costs.
When this line item goes down, businesses are more profitable and can hire more people to provide goods and services to other people who aren’t spending all their income on getting to work and back.
Having had plenty of big cars, I’ll stick with small ones. The lower gas prices are nice, though.
Saw a Gas price of 3.13 a gal near Pittsburgh and thought it was a mistake. And yes, Corbett is going to get trounced next week and wait til Wolf the tax man gets his hands on the til.
The day Obama got elected, gas was $1.67/gal. Yet people are getting excited today about $2.50 gas? Seriously?
After the election, I can pretty much guarantee a return to $3.50-$4.00 gas through 2016.
Truck = 12,000 pounds, empty.
435 (U1300L) @ 7490 kg GVW = 16512 pounds GVW
Unbraked â 2100 kg = 4629 pounds
Over-run brakes â 7490 kg = 16512 pounds
Continuous brakes â 10480 kg = 23104(truck)
Mine is equipped with the air trailer braking system (continuous).
They make some interesting attachments for that thing.
The one you show in the pic is a SEE.
The Marines got rid of them due to reliability problems.
The basic Unimog was ok, but the attachments were broke more then working.
I have 2, one a 1966 U-404 radio van, and 1 1987 U-1300L truck with a Zeppelin radio shelter.
I use the U-1300L daily, and the U-404 at least weekly.
