Pro Bowl selections shouldn't even be considered. Pro Bowlers are selected through a vote by the NFL players, so you end up with a lot of guys who don't make the Pro Bowl simply because they aren't well-liked around the league.

I think it was Hall of Fame linebacker Harry Carson who once said that he never voted for a Philadelphia player on a Pro Bowl ballot.

We LOVED him for the short time we had him in NE. We envied the Chargers for having had him in his prime all those years!

Probably much the same way the Colorado Rockies fans must have felt when Ray Bourque was playing for them the year they won The Cup.

Bill Polian is a football god in my eyes. Long overdue for Mick as well.

I was happy he got to play for the Patriots and get a Super Bowl Ring!

Junior Seau died for the game. NFL needs to do something about concussions or it’ll destroy the game as we know it.

Kurt Warner would be a rare HOFer who was undrafted. He’ll get in eventually, though.

Why not Ken Stabler?

Yep. I remember a player saying that it was a running joke among the players, “I’ll vote for you if you vote for me.”

They all know the risks, and have for the last decade or two. The ones coming into the game for the last 5-10 years are having things spelled out clearly enough so that they understand, even the dimwitted ones.

Deserved to be in before this, just not due to Cowboys haters on voting panel.

From Wiki:

Stabler was the fastest to win 100 games as a starting quarterback, having done so in 150 games, which bettered Johnny Unitas’ previous mark of 153 games. Since then, only Terry Bradshaw in 147 games, Joe Montana in 139 games and Tom Brady in 131 games have reached 100 wins more quickly.[5] Stabler is also the only quarterback from the NFL’s All-1970’s team not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In a recent NFL feature listing the top 10 players not in the Hall of Fame, Stabler was listed at number six, partly due to his off-field scandals,[6] which in the 1970s were less prominent, or it could be that he never emulated the success he achieved in Oakland.

I’m surprised they didn’t go for Michael Sam. He spent his entire career with only two teams and was so good, his teams never lost a regular season game with him as a starter.

I'm sure you're crushed he wasn't selected but why did you feel the need to crap all over a serious football discussion with that?

Will Shields annihilates Ray Ray...

Will Shields. Thirteen time Pro Bowl selectee, second longest consecutive starting record after Brett Farve, member of the Chiefs Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame, and one of the classiest acts ever to wear a football uniform. A well deserved honor.

Did the Rockies use him for defensive purposes in the late innings? ;~))

Hahahahaha...oops...I could blame THAT on spell check, but it wasn’t that, my brain just gets things like that backwards on occasion!

Good pickup...:)

Obscurity wasn’t going to protect me there!

Hahaha...don’t worry, the Cowboy haters on the voting panel are being displaced by Patriots haters, so...they’ll get in sooner now!

Ray Lewis was a dirty-playing thug, just like his team was and is, particularly on D.
