She also cites her religious faith as a motivation. As a Christian, she says she thinks of Mars as “very much something made by God and so having as much inherent value as Earth does”.
23 years old and working on her PHD in astrophysics........I have nothing but admiration for her and I can't understand the criticism about her looks. She is what she is.
With her attitude, I place her in the same ranks of Magellan and Columbus and all the other explorers who set sail for the unknown, many of them who never returned.
For the sake of humanity and our future, I hope she gets her wish.......

To me, even the idea of them lasting 90 days is fanciful. I just don’t see them going. Not this group. Not this mission.
What’s missing is a decent propulsion system to get us to Mars in a decent amount of time, taking a decent amount of stuff along for the ride, or pre-positioning it.

She was concerned that we would pollute the atmosphere and the planet
