Wow, that was a great article about Charles Taylor. One of my sons has a lot of those traits - he’s been a tinkerer since birth, a jeweler, a watch maker and currently works at Honeywell in Clearwater, FL. He says he can’t tell me what he does or he’d have to shoot me but he works in their precision instruments division. His biggest thrill when he got the job was, “Daddy, I get to make all my own tools!” I’m definitely sending this link to him. Thanks so much for posting!

Yes, that was a great article. The bicycle shop and their family home when they were kids was moved and is still standing at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
I walked into the bicycle shop and there’s a propeller that Wilbur hand planed. I was nearly in tears, what an emotional experience. I’ve heard stories a piece of the original Wright Flyer went to the moon with the first astronauts.

My Dad and I felt the very same way, we were in awe, as we walked into the bicycle shop, located in Greenfield Village, on the grounds of the Henry Ford Museum. It was as if time stood still, and here we were in the shop. My Dad as a young boy, he was born in 1917, use to collect pictures of WWI airplanes and keep them in a cigar box. It’s well worth the time to tour Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. I will never forget it.

Amazing men - they also proved that sometimes, when someone says, “Dude, watch this!”, it works out OK.....

I don’t think I want to fly anymore, but I still have an interest in aviation and its history, especially monumental achievements, like the Wright Brothers, Yaeger breaking the sound barrier, Yuri Gagarin, and the space shuttle.

Could you add me to the ping list?

Kind of like the recent ad campaign featuring the Dodge brothers. Too bad that they died within a year of each other just when they were getting started.

I doubt they said “Dude”.

The way the Left is changing history to suit, I think I'll try it too - I'm going to spread the word that the Wright Brothers actually coined the word "Dude"....
