1. Trump, A, (a) Nailed the waterboarding question, (b) Destroy ISIS's resources.
2. Cruz, A-, (a) A water-boarding answer that screamed "I don't trust the military. (b) Gave Trump an opening at the very end. (c) Personal story about sister very honest. (d) Smacked the lady moderator with his "I'm here tonight" not in DC getting a briefing on N.Korea missile.
3. Rubio, B+, (a) Absolutely solid on life, (b) Actually right about Barack Obama over Christie,
4. Carson, B, (a) Honest, (b) Hit the closing statement out of the park
5. Kasich, C, (a) Ohio budget surplus, (b) Friendly
6. Christie, C-, (a) Gadfly, (b) I'm a governor and we're the only thing that count.
7. Bush, D, (a) Worst, most demeaning answer of the evening on life: "I'm in the sweet spot." It wasn't about LIFE; it was about being politically right about it. HORRID response. (b) Wants to do McCain/Clinton Libyan Arab Spring all over again. He's a nut.
Trump handled Bush’s crowd really well.
Bush was awful.
Sweet spot.
JEB’s not good.
The boy in the bubble got popped tonight.
That was such a self-serving answer.
It explain Terri Schiavo’s death: she wasn’t in a political ‘sweet spot’ for him.
He needs to be drummed off the stage
I cannot believe that Bush wants to do the Libyan Arab spring all over again with southern Europe providing cover.
I can’t remember Carson’s closing statement; but I remember the previous one when he quoted the preamble.
I would give Christie a higher grade than you did; lower for Kasich and Carson.
Carson was dignified and competent.
His closing statement emphasized the requirement that president must be a man of integrity and honesty.
I found Christie more watchable than Rubio and Cruz. I think I debated a sweet kid in high school that reminds me of Rubio. I can’t see Rubio holding his own with Putin. Trump would be in his element in negotiating with Putin.
I got tired of hearing him sing that old gospel hymn, “How Great I Art”
Bush looks so awkward onstage...He looks lost when he’s trying to talk...
Trump colluded with Atlantic City insiders to bulldoze the home of an elderly widow. It didn't say that he succeeded.
Donald Trump and Eminent Domain
That brings us to the story of the aforementioned elderly widow in Atlantic City, which starts at about the same time. The woman, Vera Coking, had owned property near the Trump Plaza Hotel for three decades, and didnât want to move. Trump thought the land was better suited for use as a park, a parking lot, and a waiting area for limousines.
He tried to negotiate, at one point offering Coking $1 million for the land. But she wasnât budging. So New Jerseyâs Casino Reinvestment Development Authority filed a lawsuit, instructing Coking to leave within 90 days and offering compensation of only $251,000.
Perhaps the only upside to this story is that in neither case did Trump succeed. The Bridgeport plan fizzled. Coking fought in court, and â in part because these were the days before Kelo was decided, no doubt â she was lucky enough to win. In 1998, a judge threw out the case.
If I gave my personal report card it would start a food fight...
See #11
I can’t believe Cruz left Trump an opening that he couldn’t respond to at the very end. I actually laughed out loud that Trump walked through it, but it’s vintage Trump.
Christie thinks it’s just great that a woman can kill her baby in the case of rape.
He delivered that answer very forcefully and without a doubt as to where he stands.
He didn’t bulldoze the house.
And, actually Trump exposed the hypocrites: The Keystone Pipeline goes to PRIVATE refineries.
Christie is the governor who without pressure approved a bill saying parents can’t get their child counseling if they start acting out or speaking out about homosexuality.
He is a radical liberal
He tried, but didn't succeed because the courts slapped him down.
The debate is not about public use, but private use such as a limosine parking lot for a Casino.
