Only as backup for ELO. Saw Jeff Lynne of ELO at the Hollywood Bowl in September with the family. The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra did great!

Classical music still exists.

We have season tickets to the Symphony Orchestra and enjoy a few hours of classical music several times a year.

George Michael, when all is said and done, will have passed due to AIDS.
But.. That will never be admitted.

From the linked article:

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Kenny finds that accidents – including car crashes and drug overdoses – are a huge cause of premature death for musicians, accounting for almost 20 percent of all deaths across genres.

"Rap/Hip Hop musicians are in a very dangerous line of work."

Almost as dangerous as being an Iranian Nuclear Scientist.

Only thing more dangerous than being a rap or hip hop "artist" is being an aspiring one.

As The Washington Post notes, she found that musicians from older genres – including blues, jazz, country and gospel – have similar lifespans to American people their own age.

Time was blues singers (and country singers) died well before they reached 50.
