***meets that quota for same-sex kisses?*** I guess when Agamemnon took back the captive slave girl Brisēís, they can and make up an "affair" between Achilles and Patroclus.

Being actors who make their living pretending to be people they are not, I see no problem with a black actor portraying a white man if he is properly made up to look white.

In the past who can forget John Wayne as Genghis Khan or Robert Morley as the Emperor of China. Peter Lore as Mr Moto, and such.

Hamilton was obviously a black man.

Have you seen the holiday commercials? Apparently there’s a rule now that requires at least one gay (preferably two) gays in each tv commercial during family time.

I have heard the theory that Egyptians may have been negro before being pushed out by the Arabs under the Muslims invasions?

There are DNA indications that modern Egyptians have more sub-Saharan (black) ancestry than ancient Egyptians did. Ancient Egyptians seem to have originally been from farther north and east.

No, no, no, and a big HELL NO!

Yeah.....riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight; Achilles was black because Ancient Greeks were Negroid; or were the Ancient gods and goddesses supposedly "BLACK" ?

Achilles was the son of the King of Thessaly and Thetis, a water nymph/Nereid; making him a semi-immortal and except for one of his heels ( because his mother dipped him into the river Styx and held on to that one heel ) unable to be killed.

It's long past time for the BBC to be put out of business and thus, saving everyone in the UK money, by not making them all pay for that channel, whether they watch it or not!

Though I much prefer "The Odyssey" to "The Illiad", I still know and remember both very well. And yes, I am not just appalled, but disgusted by this crappy, cultural appropriation by a bunch of stinking PC MARXIST ELITE SJWs in London.

"THE WIZ" had an all black cast, which worked and didn't bother me ( though it was NOT very good ); so that made it okay.

OTOH...redoing "ANNIE", with Annie as a black girl, did NOT work at all and the Broadway play, HAMILTON, is an ABOMINATION in the extreme!

That's NOT true at all!

Ancient Egyptians were Caucasoids, and after Alexander conquered that nation, one of his generals was left there to rule and he was the progenitor of a long line of Ptolemaic Pharaohs.

For a VERY short time, Egypt was conquered and ruled by blacks from Nubia.

Though Ancient Egyptian art was highly stylized and people painted in many different colors, those colors represented other things than race!

You want to see what an Ancient Egyptian looked like in a realist representation? Look up Nefertiti .

Ancient Egypt (and modern Egypt) was in Africa, and there are lots of nomadic peoples there, and in the Sinai, and the Middle East. Up to 40 percent of ancient Egypt were black African, but the percentage varied wildly, and the peak was during this very time (the Trojan War has been misdated, even when it was/is considered fictional it has been misdated), I'll excerpt something in the next post. But the entertainment industry doesn't make documentaries, and this casting was done for anachronistic political reasons. Thanks all.

The Allies of Priam
from The Dark Age of Greece
by Immanuel Velikovsky
Phrygians as allies of Priam, in the hinterland of the Troad, in conflict with the Cimmerians, themselves pursued by the Scythians, would limit the period of the Trojan War to the years between -720 and -687... The allies of Priam also included Ethiopians under Memnon; ...What is called here Ethiopians were actually Sudanese... dated from ca. -712 to -663, when Ashurbanipal pursued Tirhaka to Thebes, occupied it, and expelled the Ethiopian from Egypt proper. The tradition concerning Memnon, the Ethiopian warrior who came to the help of Troy, would reasonably limit the time of the conflict also to the end of the eighth and the beginning of the seventh century... as just said, close to the middle of the seventh century, and possibly at an earlier date, Gyges, the king of Sardis, sent in the reverse direction Carian and Ionian mercenaries to assist the Egyptian king Psammetichus in throwing off the Assyrian hegemony. Thus it seems that if the participants in the Trojan War all belong to the eighth-seventh century, Homer, who is thought to have lived at the end of the eighth century or the beginning of the seventh, must have been either a contemporary of the siege of Troy, or separated from it by one generation only.

Aeschylus Meets the Mummy:
2,500-Year-Old, Lost Greek Trilogy Found Under Wraps

Robert Simonson | November 17, 2003
Theatre historians should be grateful the Egyptians were both big readers and fervent recyclers.

A 2,500-year-old trilogy written by Greek dramatist Aeschylus (525-456 B.C.), which was thought lost to time, was discovered among the stuffing inside an Egyptian mummy. The plays will be performed next summer by THOC, the national theatre of Cyprus. The production will then travel to Greece.

The trilogy, titled Achilles, concerns the title warrior's adventures in the Trojan War. The story covers Achilles' slaying of Hector, the son of Trojan kin Priam, and Achilles subsequent death -- by poison arrow to the heel -- at the hands of Paris.

Scholars knew of the drama from references made by Aristophanes and other writers, but believed it burned up in 48 B.C. with the famous Library of Alexandria. But archaeologists found sections of the text inside a mummy, which Egyptians often filled out with papyrus.

Elias Malandris, a Greek writer, labored over the text for 10 years. The resulting play employs the found pages, as well as excerpts from Homer's "Iliad" and references to Achilles found in other Greek plays.

Aeschylus was the first of the great Greek tragedians. Of the 90 plays he is suspected of having written, the titles of 70 are known and, until now, only seven were thought to have survived: Suppliants, Persians, Seven Against Thebes, Prometheus Bound and the "Oresteia" trilogy of Agamemmnon, The Libation Bearers and Eumenides.
