All they need to do is to put RDF tags (or whatever their called) on every item

I wear a glucose sensor on my arm, it sets off the alarm every time I walk in or out the W-M door and no one has ever stopped me.
Door greeters are a thing of the past around here.
Lame post
Lame score:8.3/10
We can address your false assumptions directly with logic, but you seem to have shied from that.
If a business increased profits with a new method, is that bad in your view? What do increased profits represent to you? Are they simply an undeserved cost applied by producers on consumers?
That you assumed all that was what helped raise your Lame Score above 8.
Checking out groceries is a whole lot different than using an ATM machine.
I know you know that...

And theft? It’s breaking the backs of stores in democrat hellhole cities.
That’s your choice. Walmart still has checkout lines with cashiers but self checkout must be popular giving the amount of people using them including me. And the non self checkout lines are shorter because of the amount of customers using self checkouts. If you don’t like them, don’t use them. But don’t take the choice from others just because you don’t like them.
Soon you will just show up at the government food distribution warehouse and cash in your social credits.

… shouting, “my social credit report says I’m entitled to 6 extra crickets this week! You shorted me 6 crickets!!”
I pushed for self-grading back in high school but they wouldn’t even listen.
So why did they think self-checkout would be more successful? LOL

😂
I used to sort of do self check out if it was a small but TBH I have to lean over slightly to scan and it nags my back which is grouchy at times so I’ve been going to the regular cashier, I figure it’s going to keep somebody in a job and now with all this legal eagle-stuff going on.... nope.
Good advice tho’
My wife started the home delivery from Wally World during COVID lockdowns. Now she just orders online every week. No having to drag a cart all over the store. No dealing with long lines. Food is delivered right to the door step.
She says she will never go back to grocery shopping.
I can bag my own groceries better than young kids that haven't been trained by professional baggers, let alone never cared about crushed tomatoes.
Being piqued because you're not being paid for bagging your own groceries never made sense to me. Numerous times when a repair man or workman came to my house, I have helped load their truck or carried things to be helpful. I also wave at and speak to anyone that walks by or drives by my house. Life is not a zero sum game foe me.
For full disclosure I bagged groceries in the Base Commissary when I was an Airman below the poverty line, "so I've got that goin for me, which is nice."
I try not to use them as at some point they stop working and I have to wait for an employee to come over and fix the issue.
I have a really bad back. After I walk all over the store and unload my basket on the belt I really don’t feel like bagging them and and putting them back in the basket. So….when I walk up to the self checkout at Walmart I call over one of the attendants and say….I need you to scan and load all this for me. They always do. One of the cashiers told me awhile back that if asked they are supposed to.
I wonder if the Amazon grocery stores are having the same problem, since they have no cashiers at all.
For me, I do the order online, pull up into a parking spot, let Kroger know which spot, and they bring the groceries to my vehicle. No waiting in line, convenient pickup times, and no rude/”People of WalMart/Kroger/Target” experiences.
Jonty30 - I haven’t been in a Target in years, they have $500 RUGS?? Are there Persians in the back making them?
usurper - RDF tags... RFID - Radio Frequency IDentification tags
frank ballenger - I’m a 53 year old man with 4 kids, and never worried about wearing pink. In fact, I have a couple of pink polo shirts in my closet right now. It’s just a color. Doesn’t mean squat.
“Have you ever been in a hurry and had to stand behind some old geezer for five minutes while he checks every pocket of his clothing for a few pennies because his bill is say $5.03? GIVES ME CHEST PAINS!!”
Yup—that is the big issue in our area and why I prefer self-checkout.
Then there are the “coupon people” who have expired coupons, wrong coupons, can’t find their coupons....
The only old geezer I want to wait for is me!
I like self checkout if I have just a few items. Otherwise self checkout sucks.
Good points. I did see a woman even older than I who got help with the checkout. Probably the new phase will be having to ask for help.
I know they often have car curbside pickup but I thought of how many times we have to decide when due to supply chain problems exactly what we need is not there, but maybe the oversize one or the house brand might be okay rather than make another trip elsewhere. And I wonder if the staff leaves some defrosting or no longer cold items while they
take a break or see what store item I was talking out like the cashier who asked me which were cucumbers and which were zucchini.
