Slipstream

Conservative Americans are often quite knowledgeable and aware of many references, books and great websites they find all the time in their daily lives. It's sad for us to see the unknowing liberals charge around aimlessly spouting propaganda in their frustration and anger at uncomprehended national and world events. And yet these energetic but erroneous advocates often influence the inexperienced undecideds. How can we let both groups in on the "secrets" that do not trickle down through local newspapers, popular news magazines, or common TV news? One method would be to distribute small slips of paper with some internet sites, book titles or article links on them. Throughout this column I will provide examples such as this one:

Moore Information

A common liberal claim is that there are two America's, one for the lordly rich capitalists and one for the oppressed but noble proletariat struggling to be free. While this fairy tale land does not exist, it is certainly possible to see America as divided in another important way: the well informed and the uninformed. For too long the liberal media and public schools have twisted history and the facts by controlling the information flow. Fortunately, the socialistic censorship shield is breaking down. But it's not gone yet.

Documentation of liberal media:

Those dependent only on the supposedly unbiased mainstream media for their news are many times woefully unaware of the facts and figures surrounding the important issues of the day. They are likely to think that prolific guns kill most children or that Roe vs. Wade was logically and fairly decided with no liberal courtroom lies, making abortion legal, safe and moral for all. They could be unaware of the many foibles of government overspending and taxing, or of the evils of communism.

Important facts about pregnancy/abortion:

You can let people know the truth about the war or a politician's lies and corrupt behavior. You can help counter environmentalist disinformation. Imagine an Earth Day where crowds of liberals or the kids they are trying to dupe somehow gain knowledge of the existence of three books that question the zany left wing "global warming" theory. Wouldn't that be interesting?

Global Warming Hoax Information Books

Global Warming and Other Eco Myths, by Ronald Bailey
The Satanic Gases, by Patrick J. Michaels & Robert C. Balling
It Ain't Necessarily So, by David Murray, Joel Schwartz & S. Robert Lichter

Informational slips of paper are easy to make if you have access to a computer. Start with any word processor application. Notice how the examples have a title. That will get some attention and focus the reader on what you are trying to inform about. Just have a few sites or books. Two to five is just right. More than that may be over- whelming. Just one is not enough corroboration. Three is just right. Try to use websites that are easy to type or remember. Research your information. If your listed books, article links or websites have easy to understand facts and are somewhat in the mainstream (of conservative thought) they will be better received.

Once you have decided on your title and data type it into your word processor. Then it's time for some formatting. Select, copy and paste the whole thing again and again until the page is full. You may want to split the page into two or more columns. Then print and cut your document into slips with scissors. If you want to get really fancy go two sided, use colored paper or format the slips into a bookmark. Now you have an easy low cost way of letting people know some facts!

OK, so you have your slips of paper; how do you get them out into the world? There are many imaginative ways. Here are some examples, but don't let them limit you. Simply handing them out is one way; to a friend, at a rally or to people you meet. In church is not appropriate, but to a friend after church while having lunch is. You can put them on windshields in parking lots where that's allowed. Bulletin boards in public places are ideal. Tack some to a telephone pole where people walk by so they can take one. Don't litter or break the law in any way, however. Use common sense, prayer and good judgment.

News and facts you don't usually get to see

But what about liberals? Can't they do this, too? Yes, they can, but their websites and propaganda are so wacky and freaked out that if they do, it would probably help us more than hinder our efforts. I'll stack our sites and books against theirs any day! We have no fear about letting people see both sides and decide for themselves. It's left wing socialists who want to censor opposing views and suppress information! Let them try. We'll continue to get the facts out whenever and wherever we can. Let's stand up for the truth, and stand up for America!
