Why hasn't the McCain camp unleashed Sarah Palin? (Vanity)

Posted on 09/24/2008 11:47:18 AM PDT by GOPinCa

Today Joe Biden went on the attack against John McCain's foreign policy judgement. Why doesn't the McCain camp do the same and let Sarah Palin go on the attack against Obama? I watched a number of her rallies and she basically sticks to the same script. Look, there are only 41 or so days left and there isn't much time to persuade people. Why isn't Palin unleashed??

Methinks they are waiting until after the debate. She will show the entire country that she knows what she is talking about, and is more than just a hot bimbo. Then they let her attack.

Let Biden make just a couple more gaffes, while Palin continues to be debriefed about up to the minute foreign and national security affairs.

That was my thought. Maybe they are trying to draw people in to watch the debate and then let her go at it. I really think they need to unleash in a big way though. The media will not lift a finger in attacking Obama/Biden so the McCain camp better let Sarah do it.

Well she’s been tied up for the last two days at the UN, which is good for her foreign relations credentials, but I agree, we’re jonesing for a Sarah fix.

I hope it’s just a matter of McCain/Palin keeping their powder dry, and they’re gonna unleash Sarah soon. If they don’t, they’re done.

They got a taste of Palin at the RNCC. They'll get a bigger dose at the debates. Remember, she drew 60,000 people in Florida at an event that was to host only 20,000. She's doing great.

If you are talking about the press, being quoted correctly and firing back salvoes, forget it.

Probably best to wait until after the debates to unleash Palin but to me the more worrisome thing is the string of ah-let-it-go’s that the McCain camp has given the RATS.

Biden makes gaffe after gaffe and shows his ignorance of VERY basic history yet the MSM ignores it.

The press hates Sarah Palin. Anything she says will be twisted and lied about. The press will NOT report honestly on Governor Palin so there is no point in giving the press any time at all.

Who is directing this campaign? McCain has Obama on the run and he starts hiding Sarah, and now he’s asked to delay the debate?

Typical of cowardly Republicans: afraid of their own shadows. Time is running out, and Oprah’s Obama is back to a 6-point lead.

She's got a lot to learn about world events and national politics in a short period of time.

Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates get asked about an extremely wide variety of topics that are while aren't important enough to a wide variety of people to be widely know, are very important to special interest groups.

Those special interest groups don't like to hear that the candidate is unaware of issues that are important to them.

The McCain campaign is taking the time they have to brief her as best they can.

She like every other candidate is going to try and stick to her strengths for as much as possible. Obama is being handled at least a delicately as Palin.

He gives speeches to sympathetic crowds using a teleprompter.

He does interviews, but mainly with sympathetic interviewers. Palin has faced more difficult interviews that Obama has.

He's faced very little tough questioning in this race so far.

Palin's next big test will be the debates, and she should match up well against Biden. I'm not sure why Obama thought Biden would be a good VP candidate, maybe he was a concession to the Hillary camp that wanted someone as VP that wouldn't be much of a threat to her future Presidential ambitions.

You didn't get the memo??

First the press tried to destroy Palin by going after her with smears galore. When they realized that was backfiring they went to plan B...ignore her. That was why they started to whine about not having "access" to her. Whatever that means. She's there, but being ignored.

People forget that Sen. McCain graduated from Annapolis and learned strategy and tactics from his Admiral father and Admiral grandfather. He also has some smart cookies running his campaign. They will use Gov. Palin where she excels, but they know that people vote for the top of the ticket, not the bottom.

His latest tactical move to “suspend his campaign” to focus on “solving the economy” in the Senate has Obama on his heels. McCain can take the high road, while Obama searches for a way to exploit the situation.
