George W. Bush is blamed for everything under the sun; but how will his legacy be judged by historians? What has he accomplished? Has he made mistakes? Sure, but does he deserve to be called the worst president of the United States as the polls suggest?
Did the internet play a role? How about the media? What role did he have in the financial crisis? Did he fail in Iraq?

He has left the GOP in shambles. In many states, the GOP is irrelevant, even in his neighboring NM. THUS FAR, TX and OK have been spared the worst of the partisan bloodbath.
IMO the undoing came when Bush refused to allow the inspectors to go into Iraq to conduct their inspections. This would have baught him time to expand the coalition and in the event that weapons were found, it would have solidified his position. If Saddam would have stonewalled or refused the inspections, then it would have also solidified his position. In short, he was not patient enough and maybe should not have gone in at that time. Had he focused his efforts in Afghanistan, everything else would not have snowballed the way it did with the media, the protesters, the Congress and the public in general.
“He may not have been the best president, not even close; but I am absolutely sure there have been worst presidents.”
I concur with this assessment. GWB at least deserves credit for keeping America safe from further attacks in our homeland, if nothing else.
In his farewell speech, Pres. Bush said,
“I have often spoken to you about good and evil. This has made some uncomfortable. But good and evil are present in this world, and between the two there can be no compromise “
This why the libs hate Pres. Bush, and not bcz of his legitimate failings. Anyone who honestly seeks to uphold God and His moral absolutes is made out to an evil orgre, as in their mind, morality is relative, and you can fornicate, etc. all you want and then feel righteous because you rail against global warming. Meanwhile, everyone except their enemies is portrayed as a victim, and endlessly entitled to compensation. This is bcz they are inspired of the devil, who essentially sang that song to Eve in Gn. 3.
(Rev 20:10) “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
Don’t join him, turn to Jesus
I don’t fully agree with your post, but I do think that liberals have a problem with his absolutism. I think that Obama’s subversiveness and questionable ties add to his panache. Lots of the rage toward president Bush is being channeled to love of Obama. It’s more mutable than you might think.
He was the best of choices, but no doubt another elite that did more to damage the conservative movement than anyone could have imagined. He took a dirt nap for 3 years like his father but did twice the damage.
Starting tomorrow, it will all be the fault of The One (piss be upon him).
He left with California bankrupt, gang infested, graffiti scarred, dotted with mosques, and packed with illegal aliens. The state will never elect another Republican. It may never elect another American.
I don’t want to hear that it really wasn’t his fault but Bush’s.***
Ahhh but you’ll hear it over and over again from MSM.
GW's "mistake" was that he did not trust the people to understand the true geo-political wisdom of putting boots in the dust in that part of the world without some sort of "emergency" like WMD's. He should have just invaded, conquered and dominated Iraq with overwhelming force and brutality, established rough justice and swift, deadly resolve against any and all opposition. Within a few weeks the US forces could have repositioned themselves against Iran and pushed the terror back to it's source!
Iraq would have been easy to "pacify" had we committed more troops and less press. The mullahs in Iran would have been pummeled from both within and without, from the American war machine as well as their own internal opposition groups. America and the world would have been better off as a result and GWB would, by now, be thought of as a strong and effective warrior and president. Because he didn't do these things you can surely "blame Bush" for his own legacy.
