Fearless Cat Chases Away Bear

A woman who must be holding a baby from the sounds on the video sees a bear coming onto her porch from inside. She attempts to shoo it away, but obviously the bear does not even know she is inside watching through a window. It seems the bear wants her garbage, and the moment the bear gingerly grabs a plastic bag of garbage a cat appears and confronts the bear. What we have next is a standoff that the bear is not sure he wants to get into. Eventually he does get the garbage bag, but he takes all precaution to avoid the menacing cat who does an admirable job of protecting the home front.

It's a foreign woman in Germany or Norway maybe, but if anyone can identify the language I would appreciate a heads up as to what she is saying.

Cat just kept bear from tearing into garbage on the porch. Bear would have shaken kitty to pieces if pushed. Garbage is easier and won’t scratch your nose. Still, that’s a bada$$ cat.

that depends. That's a pretty small bear and kitty could have jumped on bear's back where bear can't easily reach, clawing eyes and nose should bear turn head towards kitty.

We live in bear country and have big male cats that will just sit there while the bears walk by and they don't seem to be afraid of them at all.

On the other hand, my brother warned me that foxes like to eat cats, but our cats _do_ chase the foxes!

What we have next is a standoff that the bear is not sure he wants to get into. Eventually he does get the garbage bag, but he takes all precaution to avoid the menacing cat who does an admirable job of protecting the home front. It seems from the updated information I just recieved that the cat was actually protecting her newly born kittens.
