Last June, I noted Gen. David Petraeus's MoveOn.org-like take on Guantanamo Bay -- close it because it causes us problems and violates (unspecified) Geneva Conventions -- and his willingness to attribute to the Palestinian war on Israel "justifications" for the existence of Hezbollah. Gen. Petraeus, according to this article, seems to be working to influence WH attitudes and actions on Israel-Palestine, with Israel the underdog.

If our goal is to democratize the ARab and Islamic world, we need to appease them. Putting aside the fact that an Arab world would simply vote a bination state into existance, ending Israel, the very democratization project proposed by the neoconservatives endangers Israel. The reality is that they are liberals and like all liberal projects, this one is at odds with reality ISrael just lacks the strategic defense the US has to such stupidty.
Far from being Israel-firsters, neoconservates are useful idiots for the Muslims seeking conquest through peaceful means (Dawa).
