Today at 6:00PM, California Secretary of State candidate Damon Dunn will be in Chico. I have been told by my friend Steve Thompson, who is the Chairman of the Butte County Republican party, that if I show up early he will get me in to ask few questions when Dunn takes questions from the reporters.
Now I have some ideas of what I would like to ask, but I would like some suggestions from my fellow Freepers, and especially the California ones, as to what I should ask him if I get the chance. This will be before he gives a speech that I also plan on videoing for my blog, The Way OneVike Sees It I will attempt to post a good report along with any answers to questions I ask along with other pertinent questions from the reporters he answered by tomorrow morning. So, I will be monitoring this thread all day while I am at for any and all serious questions that you would like me to ask the would be Secretary of State, Damon Dunn.
I am taking a break from fishing because I have been offered a chance to ask the Republican candidate Damon Dunn a few questions along with the normal reporters today in Chico during a campaign stop. Any suggestions for questions you may have for me to ask him?

I’m not a Californian, but illegal aliens always interest me...
I used to live in CA. Ask what CA can do to get itself out of DEBT...
Key: ...get itself out...
How Much will the Obama Administration Health Care unfunded mandates affect the California Deficit?
Are you going to let it impact California?
I have read his answer to that question, and he said befoire the reason they are leaving is why he feels the need to run so he can help stop it by changing California into a business friendly state. I offer this because it has been asked and answered very good by him.
If I had a link I would offer it, but my pc broke had a hard drive crash last night and I am using my wife’s, and so I have no bookmarks for the article.
If he was the SoS during the ‘08 election, you could ask him whether he did anything to confirm Obama’s eligibility for office, or whether he thinks taking Nancy Pelosi’s word for it is what it means to uphold his oath of office.
Sounds good, how’s he going to get the state legislature to help on that? Arnold did’t have much success there.
I met Damon in a small group last week. Very impressive. However, he needs to drop his view that he is analogous to Barak Obama with respect to a new leader that could catch fire and be propelled to the White House. Of course, one of the major flaws with BHO is that he is totally unqualified for the job—lacking experience and accomplishment, leaving aside the lack of an appreciation for this country’s Constitution and people. Damon instead needs to frame his ambition as a condition: “If I am successful in turning California around through conservative principles as SoS and then Gov, then . . .”
We should be asking all republican candidates if the central purpose of government is “to help people” or the correct answer, “to protect life, to protect property, and to make citizens more free through less government.”
He wasn’t the Secretary of State in “08”, but I do plan on asking him if he is considering going over Obama’s birth certificate in order to verify it’s authenticity.
Thanks for the advice, I will ask him his opinion on what he thinks the main roll of the government should be in his quest to turn then state around.
So, you said you were impressed. Does that mean you think he has a serious chance, I mean in the general election this Nov, not the primary.
I ask because from what I have learned he seems to be the man to beat because of his political backers. However I do worry that he is being forced on us by the very California Republican Party that has done more to help the Democrats as of late then the people.
He will be the nominee. He also expects to be carried into office by the anti-incumbent / pro-Republican dynamics that exist. That is really the only way that a SoS gets elected—too far down ballot and not enough money can be raised to make a difference around any such candidate. Only time will tell as to whether he is a bona fide conservative. I have some doubt. I am impressed with him as a vessel. All hinges on November as to how far right we are able to push the Battleship that is the U.S.
One thing for sure is, if Anthony is there, then I will definitely give him a thumbs up for his article today.
Thanks for the ping!
