Katrina Jokes – Revisited after the BP oil spill
Big Bureaucracy ^ | April 30th, 2010 | Ellie Velinska

The late night jokes about President Bush are part of the history of the nation that was seeking comfort and somebody to blame after Katrina. Let’s take a trip back in time and check if the same jokes can give us comic relief today when Louisiana is facing new environmental disaster.

"Finally today convoys of troops and aid started to arrive along the Gulf Coast. Five days after the hurricane hit. Kind of makes you miss the innocent days when Bush only sat on his ass for seven minutes. It only took him four days to make a plan, but finally today he said he had a plan. Unfortunately it's a faith-based plan that involves getting two of every animal onto a big boat." - Bill Maher

"He could have started planning on Saturday when the radar showed that a hurricane was going to hit the city, but Bush thinks that the jury is still out on weather forecasting." - Bill Maher

"They say the toxic water and sludge smells so bad in New Orleans that they're thinking of renaming the city Newark." -Jay Leno

"In his speech President Bush said we need to rebuild Iraq, provide the people with jobs, and give them hope. If it works there maybe we'll try it in New Orleans." - Jay Leno

"The president said much of the aid is going towards job training. And when they heard that, the people of New Orleans rose as one and said, 'Can we start with you?'" - Bill Maher

Obama could have easily visited the rig...all he had to do was walk out there and look around!

“The president has vowed to personally lead the investigation into the government’s failed response to The Gulf Oil Spill? Isn’t that a job perhaps someone else should be doing?” –Jon Stewart

“No, not at all, Jon. To truly find out what went wrong, it’s important for an investigator to have a little distance from the situation. And it’s hard to get any more distant from it than the president was last week.” –-”Daily Show” correspondent Samantha Bee

“Everyone is still talking about The Gulf Oil Spill. Experts say it could take 80 days to drain all of the oil out of New Orleans. When President Obama heard this he said, ‘80 days, that’s half a vacation.’” —Conan O’Brien

“Even President Obama, almost a week later, President Obama said his administration’s response to The Gulf Oil Spill was unacceptable. Then he said ‘Hey, don’t blame me, I was on vacation.’” —Jay Leno

YEP!And as we witness OBOZO’S NON ACTION on the Oil Spill for Days while he entertained Several Thousand MUSLIM ALLEGED ENTREPRENEURS in D.C. this week and played His Fiddle while the Oil Rig Burned!! We must remember that BUSH pleaded with the DEMORAT Governor of Louisianaand Nitwit Mayor of N.O. to evacuate before Katrina hit, they ignored him and encouraged the Partiers to keep on partying!
OBOZO is fitting the Demorat and Traitor Role Perfectly! :-(

“Welcome to the Late Show. I am so glad you people are here, because last night what an awful audience, oh, my God. Remember those people? What a horrible audience, and I hate talking about people when they’re not here, but God, I thought it was the Obama Administration, because...they were so slow to respond.” —David Letterman

I’m confused about why you put those jokes about Bush and Katrina on FR without any rebuttal about Obama and the oil spill.

To show his commitment to stop off-shore drilling, Obama flew to Los Angeles last week in his 747, accompanied by the press corps that follows him everywhere....as if local presstitutes were not yet trained to the level of incompetence of the White House chosen few.

Obama’s travels tied up the traffic in Los Angeles for 2 hours more than normal. As the cars sat and chugged on the freeways turned parking lots, every motorist lovingly wondered if they had properly inflated tires.

Obama could have easily saved the rig...all he had to do was walk out there and lay hands on it!

It is meant for readers to substitute. I said:

I am sorry if I wasn’t clear - it was meant to make fun of Obama by comparing with his inaction.

There will be no Obama jokes about the oil spill in the liberal MSM. All teleprompters got the memo from Axelrod.

Sorry, but I don't think the oil spill is quite the same as the Katrina devastation. I also don't think that there's much reason for the President to go have a look at either of these, but there certainly was more reason for Bush to go to LA and walk among the people there.

I am afraid in a few days you will be convinced that this will be as bad. Less people dead (11 so far), but similar devastating effect on economy there.
