Jonathan Bernstein asks:
Sullivan believes that Palin's birth story for her youngest son is implausible. I think he has a good case for that, for what it's worth. As I've read over the last two years, I've seen three possible explanations. The first is the wild one, that the baby isn't really hers; she's covering for someone else's inconvenient pregnancy and has adopted that child. The second is that she was an irresponsible mother, and took terrible risks given the dangerous nature of the pregnancy. The third is that she made the whole thing up, or most of it: she invented a heroic birth story, and then wound up being stuck with it when she suddenly had a massively larger audience.
So. Let's say one of these is true. Why should I care?
I'm tempted to say that Sullivan owes it to us to explain what he thinks is at stake in the story of Palin and Trig, but I think that's not quite right. I'll leave it at this: as a regular reader, I would like to know what he thinks is at stake here. And I might even believe that he owes it to Palin and her family to explain why the stakes are high enough to outweigh their privacy. At least for me, it has to be more than just her habit of straying from the truth; we have more than enough examples of that.
These are excellent questions in an excellent summary of the options. Let me start with the obvious. If any of the three scenarios Jonathan has pointed out is true, then Sarah Palin has no business running for president and should never have been picked for vice-president.

That was one of the most repulsive articles I’ve ever read. What a sick, sick mind Sullivan has. I guess we should all pray for him.
I can just picture Andrew 20 years from now stating:
“Ah, but the strawberries, that’s that’s where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes, but I proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, and with geometric logic that Trig was not Sarah Palin’s child.”

I can’t believe anyone with half a brain would print this stuff. Do these people expect to stay in business printing crap like this?
Okay, thats creepy...
Good Lord, are those psycho’s still attacking Trig?
WOW.
“Have you ever noticed that Adrew Sullivan has this unnaturural prurient interest in all things Palin? I mean, its like a sickness, a psychosis. Its like hes unable to focus on anything else. Weird.”
This sounds like a poster here on FR, Robert J. He is totally obsessed with taking down Ms. Palin.
I cannot believe they’re this desperate.
This sodomite is fomenting violence against SP. I ask any retired special operator here to get with your fellow colleagues and take care of this. If you don’t, and something happens to her, its on you.
Silly Sully not only reads FR, but he posts here as a Seminar Freeper. I think his username is Bob K or something...

Correction: Robert J = Bob J
Hey, you forgot to include indylindy and pissant. What are you trying to do, hurt their feelings?
Bob I wasn’t it?
The bitter, psychotic delusions by "men" who can't reproduce normally; sullivan and morford come to mind, are just extra entertainment.
Maybe she should have copied the Kennedys and hidden him away in some asylum in Wisonsin.
If anything happens to her and/or her family, there’ll be hell to pay: Doesn’t the Left realize that the VAST MAJORITY of military and veterans are over here on this side?
If anything happens to Sarah or her family, that nutcase Andrew Sullivan will be a prime suspect.
So you either voted for Obama/Biden or wasted your vote in 2008, is that what I'm hearing you say?
Well, it’s nice to know he’s managed to find something to occupy his time other than soliciting bareback sex on the internet. How The Atlantic keeps him on board after that is amazing. They must be afraid of a lawsuit over gay discrimination.
Sullivan clearly has an anti-woman phobia. It started with Hillary. He was vicious towards her. It continued with Palin. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts in against Haley, Fiorina, Whitman, Angle, whoever.
I’ve always found it amazing that of all the things he could pick to obsess about with her, it’s that. Of all things. It’s beyond absurd.
One thing that’s always got me is he’s(or any of the other wackos) never claimed that Todd isn’t the father. Never raised even a question about it. So, if he buys into the Bristol is the mother idea that’s just too sick to even contemplate. And if someone else is the mother is she saying that Gov Palin is some kind of reverse cuckold, that she’d pretend to be the mother of a baby her hsuband fathered in an adulterous relationship?
Why has no other woman in 2+ yrs come out and claimed maternity?
It’s so ridiculous I can’t even believe I’m discussing it.
At this point I think the #1 reason I want Sarah Palin to be elected President is to see the reaction of people like Sullivan. Not so much because I think she’d be a good President. Sure, she’d be way better than Obama, but I don’t think there’d be all that much difference between a Palin WH and a Romney WH or a Huckabee WH or a Daniels WH or a Pawlenty WH. They’d all be pretty similar.
But just seeing the reaction of all these folks would be more than worth it.
The #2 Reason I want her to win. George Lopez said if she wins all the hispanics and illegal immigrants will leave immediately. So she’d solve the immigration issue on Day One.
Obligatory Palin photo,please?
The comparison is funny, but I don’t see traces of the unhinged psychotic insanity in those three that is clearly found by listening to Milky Loads Sullivan for longer than five seconds.
