The October Surprise Is Coming
The American Thinker ^ | July 13, 2010 | Pamela Geller

Posted on 07/13/2010 1:43:30 AM PDT by Scanian

The October Surprise. We all know it's coming. In what shape, idea, form -- who's to say? Evil always surprises. Its goals are constant, the ultimate objective never changes, but inevitably it manifests itself as the savior of the day, the savior of man. The 2008 Democrat October Surprise that ushered in the first hardcore radical post-American president in American history was the "economic collapse." Oh yes, that was a beaut.

The time before that, the moochers and the looters tried to fake Bush documents -- except that the conservative blogosphere caught them red-handed, so they missed their mark.

But the party of haters, infiltrators, anti-capitalists, the party that is anti-freedom and anti-individual rights, is going to have to pull off something really catastrophic to stay in power this November. And they will, because it is abundantly clear now that they despise the premise of America and they mean to replace it with statism, the source of untold, incomprehensible human misery for centuries.

This is one of many reasons why I’m very pessimistic about the future of conservatism and capitalism throughout the U.S. Leftists keep fighting for what they truly believe in, while non-leftists don’t fight back enough as equals and as a 100% whole opposition “entity”! Look at how the GOP, from within the U.S. Senate, continues to malfunction, without any kind of political spine whatsoever, and this lack of a political spine has been ongoing for decades, without any actual signs of ending!

The thing that would surprise me the most is if BOzo and Joe the Dumber did something highly competent. No, I’m not exaggerating.

I got that same fear. I hope not, but think it may just be the same old same old running the show.

While we have been going to work, the hard left has been going to work on our way of life.

They mean to forever change the United States. Each of us must resist them and their agenda.

Exactly. The GOP in general seems to think that "we suck less" is a workable campaign strategy.

I would go so far to say; If ANYTHING big and bad happens we need to hold Obama PERSONALLY responsible.

Pam is correct, the statists will do whatever it takes to stay in power. The agenda is to bring America to it’s knees so they can bring about their “savior”.

(darn it the flow of oil in the gulf may end soon, darn it)

The problem with all this is the muddled thinking of people who want to reference this in terms of the Great Depression and FDR’s image as having been the savior that brought us out of it. This is thought coming from a 60’s perspective that is outmoded and outdated and has zero application in the real world of today.

Not only did we have a work hardened populace in the 30’s, we had very little public debt. FDR did what he did due to the fact that we had significant monetary tools available to him. Yes they were unsuccessful, but we had enough cushion that they wouldn’t bankrupt the country.

Not so today. We are already bankrupt heading into this. If Obama creates a collapse, he will have no tools to bring us out of it. To have govt you have to have the means to pay for it. With a collapsed economy there will be no means to pay and no debt to create. Washington will be toothless.

We will have something far worse than a depression, most likely the fracturing of the States into individual nations or confederations, and general anarchy and chaos and hard times. I think this is what Obama wants. I don’t believe he wants a dictatorship, he wants to bring down the U.S. in order to transfer power back to Europe and Asia while we die on the vine.

most likely the fracturing of the States into individual nations or confederations

The best possible outcome IMO.

the enemy is ruthless, unscrupulous, and evil -- and willing to do whatever it takes to assume absolute control. They build nothing, produce nothing, create nothing, invent nothing. They steal. They demand. They demoralize. They are destroyers.

I think that sums it up. That said, I don't see how it would be possible to reverse it even if the GOP gets the House in November. Between the bizarre laws that have been passed and the existing laws that have been blatantly ignored, plus their simple rejection of court intervention in their plans, the Dems have completely transformed our entire economic and political structure in a way that is going to be very hard to undo.

The only hope would be something that would invalidate everything they have done (although I can't imagine what that could be, unless it could be proved that Obama was not legitimately qualified to hold office, make appointments, sign bills, etc.). Taking it apart piecemeal will be nearly impossible.

Pam Geller is a GREAT American and fightinmg hard to stop the Ground Zero mooslum mosque.

In the article she wrote:

“And we have seen the Democratic Party decimate our health care system, banking industry, and automobile sector, and introduce sharia (Islamic) finance into the public sector.”

What was she referring to re: “sharia in the public sector”?

My guess is because she is a CPA as is SC Gubernatorial Candidate Haley and Doug Hoffman of NY23 fame.

I do not know if you know any CPA's, they are the most anti-bull-feathers types I have ever met. It is my guess that they are despised by the left and uber left because of it, You can't fudge the numbers with these folks, which is what the Statist need to survive, to keep their shell games alive, they can't have that.

I have had the privilege to meet a potential up and comer running for Congress, not a CPA, but of an equally non-B.S. career. I think this candidate is feared because they are not of the ruling class ik and they are connecting with people, and if things go well this fall, a whole bunch of non-political types will be in leadership roles.

The problem is, how and what will they be able to do if this October Surprise comes to fruition. Frightening to say the least...

Bolton 2012: The stakes couldn't be higher.

What does this mean? Is Bolton running in 2012? I'd vote for him.

I disagree with the examples given. A Depression or a nuclear attack on the US by terrorists would hurt not help the Dems in November. Far more likely, would be a preemptive attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities to show Presidential leadership and resolve or the Obama adminsitrative trying to pass CIR or a piece of it in the form of the Dream Act to energize the base.

I have thought the same thing. An economic colapse would embolden this punk to suspend all constitutional rights, in the name of civil order.

I am sure they are already making plans.
