Democrats Lame Duck Suicide (or Isn't it fun to watch the meltdown?)
my vanity | 12/5/2010 | sickoflibs

Posted on 12/05/2010 9:48:37 AM PST by sickoflibs

Is my calendar broken? Wasn’t Election Day over a month ago? Didn’t Democrats lose and lose big? Then what is this insanity Pelosi and Reid are pulling scheduling these tax rate votes that are intended to fail? Is this supposed to help them politically? If this was such a winner politically (to lose) then why didn’t Pelosi and Reid try it BEFORE the election? In fact before the election Pelosi refused to all any votes that she didnt have (to pass) first.

Not only is it too late but I got more bad news for Democrats: Your leader Obama has already sold you out to get those tax rate extensions. Yes, he plans of giving tax ‘cuts’ (using liberal speak here) to millionaires and billionaires. To be consistent with Democrat talking points the headline should be: “ Obama gives millionaires and billionaires additional tax cuts they don’t need ”. The Obama progressive base is headed off a cliff and even their leader has left him, since he is thinking about Re-election 2012.

Don’t take my word for it here’s what progressive Jane Hamsher of firedoglake says : “So it’s a purely symbolic vote that will fail. But she’s asking members to take it anyway, because she says that’s what the President wants. Well if that’s what the President wants, then maybe he should stop sending mixed messages on the subject. Because he has said repeatedly he is “open” to extending all the Bush tax cuts, making the distinction that he’ll only do it temporarily….. But he’s not. So what this amounts to is a sop for the base, a kabuki effort that nobody in the press will take seriously. But they’ll be able to make the argument that they ‘tried.’”
Why Is Nancy Pelosi Making House Democrats Walk the Plank…Again? By: Jane Hamsher November 30, 2010

Obama can’t win. If he tries to enact policies that help fix the economy and unite the country behind him his liberal base will turn on him (or at least not get out the vote.) They really believe the Liberal/Obama spin: that not raising taxes is giving money to millionaires and billionaires. We should be in for two more fun years. Butter on your Popcorn?

I’ll enjoy it a whole lot more when it’s over, and if Obama’s priorities get shot down.

The idea is probably to get Republicans on record voting against middle class tax cuts. It is ultimately a stupid tactic and the uncertainty it creates is part of the reason the economy is stalled.

Donkey Doozy (Dem meltdown---pols in the midst of a nervous breakdown)

FR Posted on Friday, December 03, 2010 11:16:16 AM by Liz

Halperin's Take: The signs of a crack-up are everywhere. Dems still think they can somehow win a news cycle by demonizing John Boehner......Dems are said to be furious that the White House isn't using some sort of mythical leverage over Republicans to extract concessions in exchange for extending all the Bush tax cuts -- including DADT, the Dream Act (rather than dealing with jobs)...... moveon and the PCCC are spending money on TV ads demanding that the president exercise this same mythical leverage to stand up to the GOP. Losing political fights was hard for Dems. Maybe that's why donkeys seemed to be melting down all over the place. (Excerpt) Read more at thepage.time.com ...

DEMS BOW TO REALITY: "All hail Republicans. The Pubbies are giving it to us losers in the rear bigtime."

Exactly, to get lame duck Republicans to vote against them, only to cave in, reverse course and pass the full extension with Republicans later. How can Dems win when everyone knows they will cave into what they been claiming we cant afford, for over two years?

Plus, who is going to tell the middle class tax payers that their taxes are NOT being cut as Democrats been claiming?

Tea Party groups must take names and start working to vote them out in 2012. Put RATs and RINOs on notice that we’re watching their every vote and recording their every word to use in the 2012 campaigns. It’s apparent that the message sent on November 2nd was ignored.

To Democrats, “making money” means running printing presses.

To Republicans, “making money” means producing and reaping profits from what they produce..

Great Post! The democrats/Marxists keep trying to pass one country destroying bill after another .But the Republicans keep stopping the democrats. It' great that Republicans are saving freedom and the free market in this Lame duck session. It's fun watching Republicans, vastly outnumbered like the 300 Spartans ,holding like a stone wall against the evil horde of invading Marxist democrats.

But many on here blame Republicans for everything. That's like blaming the 300 Spartans who held against overwhelming odds for the invading Armies’ actions.

There are many “conservatives” on this forum who agree with the liberal mainstream media who blame Republicans for every problem. When you find yourself on the same side as the liberal mainstream media it is time to check your premises.

Ine the new year, then the new Republican House will appear above the hill to stomp the TSA, EPA, and FCC , the unconstitutional government agencies which are destroying America.

RE :”It’s apparent that the message sent on November 2nd was ignored.

Nancy Pelosi says that Democrats did all the right things but were not able to get the message out because of Citizen's United and powerful corporations drowning out the facts. But she says that these principled votes by the Lame Duck Dems (who were fired) will show the middle class voter that Democrats are ‘fighting for them’. (It doesnt matter that they will cave and pass those tax cuts for the 'rich' in the next week or so LOL). That is why Pelosi is still their leader, brilliant strategies like these. I have learned all the liberal nonsense-speak and hope to continue this series of posts..

Cheer up, Democrats are in for at least two more tough years. My message to Dems : ” Watch what you wish for. You wanted the economy, now you own it. Not Bush, not McCain, not even Reagan, but you Dems

Even though vastly outnumbered,Republicans are stopping almost all of the Democrats’ country destroying bills so far, including this progressive marxist tax hike, Dream act etc.

No Republican Senator voted for the Dream act Amnesty, for government healthcare nor for this progressive income tax hike all of which are Marxism/socialism. Dream act is cultural Marxism. A progressive tax is one of the goals of the communist manifesto. government healthcare is socialism/marxism.

Guess to many of you 100% (or very close to it) ,voting the RIGHT way, voting for freedom and against socialism is not good enough.
